Cool... I might write something if I feel up to it later. Why don't you share what you like, French?

Aye, go ahead, French. I like to see some more poetry than the stuff I've read, which isn't much tbh and 90% of it is in Swedish. Just like most of the poetry I've written myself.

Though I can say as much as that I like some of the classics (I'm usually not a fan of the too purpley either). I really like Coleridge's "Kubla Khan, or A Vision in a Dream. A Fragment". Though I suppose I like it for how he describes a paradise with a feeling of awe at same time as he keeps a sort of dark edge or background tone to it.

Part from that the most English 'poetry' I get to read/hear are lyrics. And not all lyrics are good poetry, no, I would quite simply say that I only listen to one actual poet. Cause he's the only one who manages to catch feelings or describe something there's no words for, with lyrics and music.

I would if I was certain on what sorts of poetry I really like. I sort of started this thread to see if I'd like anything anyone else does and sort of go from there. Though if anything I'd say I do rather like...well..somewhat darker stuff, a plus if it is written from a somewhat limerick-ish standpoint. Oh, and rhyming is good but there are points where I find that it can be a bit much, especially if someone is trying to write A,A,B,B,C,C scheme for every single stanza...

Robert Frost, The Road Not Taken
Sylvia Plath, The Hermit at Outermost House
Sylvia Plath, Blackberrying
I like Sylivia Plath a bit too much. I'm a sucker for all the imagery.

Ted Hughes, View of a Pig (kind of a different look at death)
And now a fun one.

Craig Rayne, A Martian Sends a Postcard Home

Just a note that today it's apparently the world poetry day. Woot.
