How did you find us? (Forums, friend, previous member, etc…) I’ll probably cry if you don’t know me by this point, but once again - I found it through googling "serious roleplay servers". Then it came to telling me about Mesalia and now I’m here, been here for not so long but for a few months.CHARACTER INFORMATIONName: Rebel, last name not given.

Age: 25

Gender: Female.

Appearance: Light brown hair frames Rebel's Latino face, the curls reaching up to her chest. It's dyed a sort of red in the middle and to the end, bringing out her soft blue eyes. Freckles litter her face and days in the sun is obvious, if not by the occasional tan lines on her arms and legs. Standing at 5'3, she's pretty short. Her build, somewhat curvy yet with toned muscles, suggest years of continuous hard labour. Scars line her body as well, but they don’t look like average war scars. Two, long and faded but noticeable scars are evident on the female's cheeks, one scar on each respective cheek.

She wears basic blue overalls with a striped shirt underneath, paired with bracelets and simple boots. Her clothing suggests a modest and humble upbringing from the country side.

Personality: Rebel is just what they named her - a rebel. She probably will always get in trouble with the authorities unless she has a damn good reason. When she does have those reasons, they're for her own selfish gain. With that said, Rebel is often selfish, hardened, what people could call "fake" seeing as she's only nice when there's something to be gained and most of all - she protects her actual personality with this bitchy persona. She doesn’t let people in and you have to be damn important to her if she does.

Backstory: Rebel starts off as a wee baby, born in the not-so-jolly year, 24 AV, during the civil war. An unfortunate time span to be born in, yes, but Rebel was suppose to be her parent's ray of light in the darkness that spread across the small country side town they lived in - and indeed she was. Rebel had gotten her name from the position she made once she was born. As a crying newborn, her middle finger was extended at the midwife. Her father was the one to name her seeing that. She was born with little difficultly, other than being late when she was pushed out. Another reason to have named her that. Rebel grew up strong, having helped around the forge in which her father owned. He had sensed that the small child had a natural talent with using her arms and hoped she could take over the forge - but, as rebels do, she had other plans. She wandered off despite constant warnings, especially when news of the dusk gate sparking had arrived, often towards the mines where she saw men enter and leave - and the occasional few who entered, but never returned. She grew curious of the mines, and so, when she was only 8, the year 32 AV, she took only a lantern and an apple and fled into the mines when all were sleeping. The next day, early in the workday, one of the miners carried out an unconscious 8 year old girl named exactly what she was to her worried parents, who happened to be a close friend to the two. His name was Sebastian. Even though she was severely injured from her run in the mines, caused by a rock falling on her leg, Rebel continued to venture into the mines every night for the rest of the year. Her parents would give her continuous beatings for disobeying them, but she continued to find ways to go. Eventually, it came to the next year, when Rebel was 9. It was 3 days after her birthday when her father came in and told her that he was being sent off to fight for the war. He had held it off for as long as he could - the man was no fighter and even the little girl knew this. She threw a tantrum, screaming and flipping things over. She didn’t want her father to evidently be killed. Not a week later, he was sent off as planned. He had only sent one letter to his family after one month of fighting.. and then they never came again. Rebel waited for months, just sitting by the door, asking the courier for news. She tried to have hope, but it was obvious. He was dead. Her mother had started drinking herself until she would become a violent blur, often directing it to rebel. Eventually, after a month of harsh abuse, Sebastian, the friend of the parents, had noticed Rebel's lack of presence at the mines and grew worried. He visited their house, only to see a scene of violence upon the child. Knowing it's what the father would have wanted, Sebastian took Rebel in. Her will was broken, that playful attitude of hers was no more. She was a shell of her former self, having technically lost both of her parents not even in 4 months. The girly grew up with Sebastian, taking note of the ways of a miner. It was the one thing that remained from her past; something that even in her later years she will take to her grave. Eventually, the war had ended and joy was spread around the country town where death had affected almost everyone. The girl grew up strong, but in a different way this time. She felt herself grow sensitive to everything and didn’t like it - so she built a wall. A wall in which she found herself thriving behind. It was just her and the resources she needed to grow in. She had formed a friendship with Sebastian as well, but was still cautious with even him. Rebel had then taken interest in being more proficient with her hands - finding all sorts of talents as she grew. She was a hands on woman, and as she turned 12, she then officially began mining. It was nothing big, just the things to start her off. Two years into her mining pursuit, now 14, she found two more hobbies she would probably take to her grave - stonemasonry and carpentry. As side things she did labour work - and, in the end, she grew as a woman, getting into trouble with the law because of butting heads, she honed her skills and is continuing in doing so. Now, as she's nearing her mid twenties, she realizes it’s time to say goodbye to the town which had housed many horrible, many good memories. She left Sebastian most of her fortune in doing her jobs, they parted and she took the first boat she saw. Whispers of curses and such didn’t make the female hesitate as she, now aged 25, walked to the town in which her story starts, Nightveil.
