My name is Kasy, though I go by many, many different names. From
Kas to Kasuu. I have been roleplaying for maybe three years now and
I take pride in that fact. As far as who I am, I am a very head-strong
individual. While I may be quiet and sometimes seen as uninteresting,
I can be kindly. If you ever get a bad vibe, trust me- it's not your fault.
I just get moody on occasion.

I do like to draw. I prefer traditional, though I do digitally fool around. I
am a writer- and in general- a jack of all trades. From derping in Minecraft
to Sims, I have many different hobbies. I enjoy to read and go outside and
enjoy the occasional street fair of flea market. I am simply someone who
is constantly on the move, trying to find something to do. I hate being idle.

And that is also how I enjoy my roleplay. I don't particularly enjoy stagnant
roleplay. I like having diverse moments and character development. I like to
make sure I experience the most out of a roleplay community- giving and
getting different experiences so I can both share with others and learn from- myself.

My IGN's are
' MissKatKat '
&
' Kasyroo '

I am an ISFP Gemini <3

Character Information :

: Name :
Melody Varien

: Age
Twenty-Three {23}

Gender :
Feminine Female

Appearance
Melody stands at a stout five feet and five inches. Her hair drapes down to her
lower back in loose tendrils. Her curly hair is hard to maintain is frequently seen
up with her usual blue, velveteen ribbon. Her face is round and very warm in tone
along with the freckles that dot all along her skin from her face to her legs. She
doesn't burn as much as she freckles. Her eyes are very vibrant agaisnt her warm
tone, being a icy blue in color. Her nose is dainty against her skin and her lips are
a faint pink and very undefined- giving them a soft look as well as helping to frame
her overall gentle appearance.
Her frame itself is very lush as she grew up decently as well as not having access to
physical activity like her siblings. Due to her breathing condition, she was frequently
taking a much easier approach to life- tending to the horses in town when she could
make it. As a result to her horse rising, her forearms and legs are much stronger than
the rest of her body even though she was not a very frequent rider.

: Personality
Melody is a very caring woman at her core, frequently taking the time out of her
evenings to try helping those around her. From her family to her neighbors- she
is often seen completing various tasks for them. Melody is a very visual woman,
having not learned how to read and write, she instead took solstice within doodling,
albeit rather weakly. She is simply a woman of meager means, and doesn't wish to
infringe upon the people around herself- though remains friendly to those who
approach her.
Due to her meek yet impressionable personality, she is easily manipulated. It is one
of her largest flaws, as she avoids conflict as much as she can so she doesn't attempt
to make situations more pleasant for herself. She simply wishes to go about her life as
easily as possible- and to accomplish the things she has set out for herself.

Backstory
Born in the midst of the war, her family was constantly moving about from small village
to small village until finally settling near the wars end. The Middle Realm was finally safe
for the time, and the villages they visited not plagued by the constant arguing and bickering
among their neighbors. Settling near a village that was near a town, her family began to
finally grow the crops they needed to eventually start a living that could finally settle them.
But before the war had ended, her family struggled on several occasions. While a group of
raiders from the next town came over, her family of three at the time had to eventually flee
from the residence they stayed in previously. With Samantha and William in tow, they had
gotten on their wagon when the news came from the nearby villages. Melody was only three
at the time so she couldn't quite remember what had gone on during the rather wild time.
When she and her brother talked about it, he only gave some details to the rather gruesome
exchange. She simply remembered that her sister who was six years older was there one day
and gone the next. The man who had ridden with them had thrown the screaming girl off the
back off the cart they were on in an attempt to dissuade the riders perusing them. William
hadn't given her much more information, but simply stated that their sister wouldn't return
to them because she was in a different place.
A few years after that incident, Melody had found out that she had a new baby brother, Thomas
He was only with them for a number of years before he had eventually drowned in a nearby river
that flowed nearby the small house they had for the time. After that, her father had eventually called
it quits and gave in to join the local villager raiding party, to eventually go out and help them with
gathering the meek amount of supplies that traveled through the area. Up until two years before the
civil war had stopped causing havoc among the smaller villages and towns, he finally came back, a bit
battered and bruised, but he was one of the few who could come home to his family. After the time, it
was only Willard, Clarissa, William and herself.
During the wars havoc over the Middle realm, Melody was forced to adapt and change
to the surroundings around her. It was several upon several years before her life eventually
came to 'normalcy' but she continued to develop her skills. She didn't quite understand why
her father, Willard, treated her as he did, the turned shoulder to her accomplishments or the raging
anger at the minor things she couldn't accomplish. So she stuck tightly with her mother, Clarissa
She sought her for the life she wanted, to the loving mother who never seemed to try and drown
her or her plights out. But she still wanted to be much like her mother- so possibly she can win the
affections of her much drifted father. In between the times of headed towards the town and tending
to the stableman's horses, she watched her mother and the daily tasks she part took in. Once she turned
twelve, her mother sat her next to her, beginning to motion her through patching up one of her
elder brother's shirts. Or letting her stir the food that would eventually come to be their meal.
She did this for a number of years, trying desperately to get into her father's
good graces through it never seemed to work, and his opinion of her remained the way it had-
unfavorable. She grew to be an observer and didn't speak much when she came to realize why he
treated her the way he had. That her own father wished it was her who was pushed off the wagon,
how he wished that it was her who drowned instead of her baby brother. But still she continued, trying
to somehow eventually show him that just because she lived, that she wasn't a failure nor a mistake.
Her mother and she spent frequent nights in silence as they prepared their meals, or repaired the men's
clothing, but still didn't feel like she should be there, so instead she soon began to seek a new solstice in
the arms of another family, one she could help create. So she waited.
Once the war had stopped, more of the young men had started to come back home, and eventually
Melody was betrothed to one of the boys she had occasionally seen when passing through town to
town- his family doing the same as hers. She's known him for a long while, and eventually the two
families began to make plans- getting the dowries set and finalized. It was a few weeks before the
ceremony before Neil was riding with his father. He was thrown from the horse after supposedly
seeing a snake in some rocky terrain and had cracked his skull open, causing both families to reel
in anguish due to such a young man to be taken so early on.
It was a number of years before Melody finally found herself getting betrothed again, simply going with
the motions. She wasn't for or against the ceremony taking place, though once she had some time with
her fiancee in the tavern, simply talking- him talking about his plans. He had gotten her drunk and eventually
bedded her before the ceremony in their drunken stupor. Melody felt rather relieved in the aftermath, slowly
growing more comfortable with the idea. In her state of relief, she had begun to speak to her mother about
beginning to take some of her belongings to his home in hopes to get settled before the ceremony. Upon
entering, she had witnessed her fiancee fornicating with another mans daughter- and immediately, her heart
sunk. After quickly exciting the room, slowly her mind began to eat away at her- trying to piece together where
she went wrong.
After a year, she simply got up from her self loathing stupor. She had decided that maybe
that kind of life wouldn't be for her. That if she had to be happy, she would try to make herself
happy instead of relying on those who may hurt her in the time between. She wanted to make
something of herself- to make sure she could be memorable so her mistakes didn't happen
a second time.

So she left. She left her small, meek lifestyle. She wanted to try finding something worthwhile.

So she went out, trying to find something to help her stand out. It wasn't long before she found
her mother trying to seek her out, trying to bring her back to the home she once thought she loved. But still, she
continued on the path before her. She frequented the coastal cities stables, seeking her place there besides the
stable master and his horses. She enjoyed the feeling of being so free, but she also felt that tinge of loss.
She didn't really have a home. The coast was nice, but the lure of that small village she once enjoyed acted like
a beacon of the past. Several weeks after eventually getting the notice of her mother trying to sing her home-
a ship's captain attempted to recruit the woman, trying to bring her on board to tend to the horses that
they were bringing over. She let him know, that she wasn't certain but she didn't have an answer at the
the time- that she needed to think.
After a couple nights, shifting on top of the hay filled bed she slept, she finally decided where her plans would
eventually take her. That if her father wouldn't see her as something, anything then it was time for her to begin
to write her own story. After speaking to the stable master, he attempted to make her stay by offering
better accommodations, though she had to refuse. She decided that it was time to eventually make her way in the
world, that staying stagnant and in the shadow of home would only continue to hinder her and the way
needed to live her life. She simply knew she needed to go so she could possibly have a chance to find
her steady. To make a place and call it home.

Hey Kasuu, I'm Leaf, and I'll be taking a look at your application.

Names?: So, this isn't so much a bit for edit as it is for my own clarification, although it would be appreciated if you did reflect the clarifications in the backstory. So Samantha is the 6-year older sister that got thrown off, William is the brother, Willard is the father, and Clarissa is the mother, is that right?

Skills: Basically, I would like you to mention in the backstory how Melody got the skills she has. When did she learn to handle animals, to cook and sew? Also, if you please, take a look at our skill guide and add Melody's proficiency in each skill. I imagine she would have a couple of apprentice level skills, although that would depend on how long she's had to learn them, which is one reason why I ask you to add those details.

Come join us: This is a reminder more than anything, but just in case you missed it, the setting is in the Forbidden Lands, which is typically a trip over the seas from the Main Continent.

That's it for now, have at it, and bump the thread once you're done editing.
~ Bump ~

: There were a few things I couldn't fit into the backstory without it being cluttered and difficult to read. :

~ She has five family members in all, her father, Willard, her mother, Clarissa, her eldest sister, Samantha,
her brother before her, William, herself, and her youngest brother, Thomas.  This is mostly for clarification
purposes, since William wasn't a huge part of her as a character I didn't feel it necessary to try
making him a defining force in her backstory.

Samatha is the one who had gotten pushed off the cart, Thomas is the child that drowned. So it is now Willard,
Clarissa, William and herself that are living. (Well, I mean, they could all be dead for all intents and purposes, but
Melody wouldn't know what has happened to them since she left.)

~ As far as Melody's skills other than animal husbandry, more particularly horses, she practiced those skills regularly
though without much enthusiasm due to her reasoning behind it. So she started to hone them around twelve years
old, but as time went on, she simply started to through the motions rather than truly investing her energy into it. She
was about 18-19 when she actually stopped practicing and left home. Since then, those two skills essentially stopped
having importance to her and instead focused on her skills with horses as a result.
