I don't know, I experienced this as well during the Pilgrimage and before that. While my memory serves me a bit fuzzy, sometimes the RP is rather jumbled. Characters enter certain mental states in the minds of other characters (or their respective players,) and seemingly stereotype and or avoid/flock to the character in question.

This was certainly a problem for Solen. I wasn't very IC, which backs Cerberus' point concerning Scipio's RP with his later dated characters. In translation, a lack of being online or excessively out of character leads to a lack of incoming roleplaying. At the same time, many characters are knotted together in a band of weaves so to speak. Each character has his or her's corresponding arches with other characters forming a diverse map regarding interactions. If you're not in this weave or spiderweb, then it's hard for you to be spread amongst it with your character.

To reiterate, the only way to enter this spider-web is to do it how an insect unfortunately does in nature. By being slammed into it and stuck. Eventually the weaves would encircle you or the spider would meet you, in this case, the roleplay would merge around your characters arrival, and due to being in the "web" now, the spider; otherwise known as the player(s) would continue to come back to their prey or yet again in this case, the other character.

If that makes any sense whatsoever. Roleplay is determined by your entry but can be influenced over-time depending on your activity. I do believe that cliqueness has it's dreadful part in this equation but, in my experience if the community also likes you OOC, they will RP with you IC. That's not an attack on you either, or vilifying you before you take it that way. I say that from personal experience.

All in all, the only way to fix or surmise this issue is by being constantly online and striving your hardest when you do roleplay. Even if you don't get constant roleplay, the few trifles you will get will be both fulfilling, enriching and enjoyable to all players involved.

That should lead to you getting more roleplay and so own. Anyways, just my several cents.
