Name: Valeryia Reinhart
Age: 20
Occupation/Skillset: Huntress
Appearance: Valeryia is of average height and a muscular but lithe build, with tan skin, carrying lots of scars, ranging from barely visible to severe, mixed with plenty of freckles. She keeps her light brown hair tied back out of her face, and out of her slanted hazel eyes. She normally wears some sort of comfortable, unrestrictive clothing, a mix of earth tones so as not to startle her prey when hunting. Around her neck hangs a tarnished silver pendant that once belonged to her mother.
Backstory: Valeryia was born in a rather large group of Mesalians that had banded together after the War of Veld. Her father, the elected leader of the group, was a very skilled hunter, and her mother a healer. Her early years were spent traveling with the group and learning her mother’s skills. Plants fascinated her, and she was satisfied with the work, but it became clear that this was not where her talent was the day that her father had found her sparring with some older children.
Valeryia’s limitless energy proved useful for combat, and she learned quickly from her father, though she frequently scared off animals that she was tracking by fidgeting. She learned not to do that as well, at least while hunting.
As Valeryia approached adulthood, the Mesalians found a place to settle, and over the next few years, they formed a small, crude village. In those years, two things became increasingly clear. One was that her father was not going to live forever, and the second was that just because Valeryia was his daughter, did not mean that she would be a good successor. In fact, she was a particularly bad option. The girl didn’t seem to understand how to properly interact with people.
Unfortunately, these wouldn’t be issues at all. On her seventeenth birthday, Valeryia’s village was attacked by another nomadic group of Mesalians. Most of the other villagers were killed, and the few survivors were taken as indentured servants. Work for ten years in exchange for not killing them. Though not slaves, they were definitely second-class citizens . Valeryia was a particularly insubordinate one, and it nearly got her killed more than once.
For the next few years, she was a servant to the warrior that had captured her and two several other Mesalians from her village. The new servants that had been captured sparked a lot of debate between the Mesalians, as the ones that had been slaves to the Xitians objected, while the younger generation had few issues with it, claiming it wasn’t slavery, that they would be released and accepted as a part of the group if they chose to stay after ten years. Eventually, the younger members of the group won, despite their elders being in charge of the village. Some rumors had started within the group that there was an outside force acting on the elders. A shadowy man with red eyes that visited during the night when everyone was asleep to speak with them. But, of course, it was just a rumor, and dismissed as such by most.
A year and a half later, she was given a small window of opportunity to escape with the other survivors from her group. A relatively new faction of Mesalians had come about, who believed that the elders were corrupted and planned to assassinate them. They struck at night, and soon the entire group was in an uproar, giving the few survivors of Valeryia’s group to escape, making their way to the old, ruined village and repairing a ship.
The small group sailed away, and by the time they made landfall, only five were still alive, including Valeryia. They wandered, their skills keeping them alive... Unfortunately, a harsh storm separated Valeryia from the other four. Searching for them, she found a beacon. Figuring that they would too come to the beacon, she followed the trail. For what seemed an eternity, she wandered, following the beacons. Sometimes losing her way, but always coming back to the trail, hoping that the others would be able to find her at the end.

Huntress:
-Spear: Valeryia has been called gifted with the slim weapon, and wields it with speed and grace. [i]Competent[/i]
-Archery: Nowhere near equal to her skill with a spear, she only carries a bow and arrows when hunting because she can’t wield it very quickly. [i]Apprentice[/i]
-Hunting: Tracking and killing animals for food and hides. Tends to get impatient at the end and rush at them, but she usually gets the job done. [i]Competent[/i]
-Skinning and tanning: Preparing hides for armor and clothing. [i]Novice[/i]
-Trapping: Making traps to catch animals. [i]Competent[/i]
Survival:
-Cooking: Anything Valeryia has a tendency to overcook everything, and has a serious lack of skill. Still, she manages to make her meals somewhat edible. [i]Terrible[/i]
-Herbalism: Though she does not know much about healing, she knows how to treat and bandage wound and can identify many plants that grew in her homeland, skills she picked up from her mother. [i]Novice[/i]
General:
-Can read and write
Personality: Valeryia is a girl with little regard for social niceties and ‘proper’ behavior. Not that she hasn’t been taught to be polite, she simply doesn’t understand why it would be necessary. She doesn’t seem to have much of a natural empathy for others, not picking up on most social cues and subtle expressions, but she does try to understand them. She loves stories and speaking with others, but dislikes physical contact. She seems to be in constant motion, full of energy and always running from place to place, sometimes stumbling over her words, save for one condition. When she has a weapon in hand, facing down a targeted animal or enemy, her demeanor changes drastically, becoming cool and eerily calm.

Had a bit of trouble organizing the skills and such. I used some other apps as an example, I hope they’re up to par! Also, the picture is a WIP, she's going to be holding a spear and properly shaded when I do finish it.

One last thing.
Please clarify/include anything that might include the civil war. I'm not sure if the parts you have in there already are part of that or not.

Critiques:
Overall the skills are good; I would suggest lowering the spearman down one more, as 20 is a rather young age, even if starting young.
Personality wise it seems fine, as long as you RP socially inept correctly, I’ve met many who think it gives them reasons to do random silly things, and that is certainly not the case.
Story: Mesalians enslaving other mesalians is very taboo, and hardly heard of. It would be an almost traitorous action, and I would suggest changing that around. Indentured servitude would be more likely if anything. Unless of course you can provide a large justification for it.
