Hey, I'd love to work on this more, but it's time for one of those abscenses i mentioned in my app. I'm gonna be gone for a month for work, actually writing from the airport right now. I'll pick this up when I come home.
About to board a plane home. I'll probably be home around 830pm est, and I'll work on things tonight if i can finish it and get schwasted at the same time.
While.I'm on.my phone though i can address a couple of points.
The tracking part of a scouts job isn't neccessarily for tracking animals, it's for tracking men. Columns of soldiers doing manuevering leave a footprint on the land they move through, and part of a scouts job in those times is to track those formations based on old camping sites, literal footprints, trash ect and to estimate force size and travel azimuth from the evidence left behind.
He didn't help in the forge when he was four, rather he helped for four years, like from when he was eight to when he was twelve.
and field craft is essentially the miscellaneous tasks a soldier has to ease his.life in the field. such as setting up an improvised lean to, applying camouflage to equipment stashes and ones self. minor military quality of life abilities. like knot tying too.
