About You: I'm not a lemon, that is all you need to know. In all seriousness, I am person who spends all their time on the internet, either drawing or looking at cat memes; aren't I interesting?
Age: 19
Race: Mesalian
Gender: Female
Appearance: Blythe is a rather petite female, being rather short at 5'3. She has straight blonde hair and bright brown eyes, a cheerful expression is always plastered on her face. She has a rather odd hairstyle, a long braid often swung over her right shoulder and short hair on the left that reached her chin, her lips are always curled into an elegant smile in most situations and is not often seen without it. She tends to wear blue, flowy dresses and is almost never seen wearing anything other than a dress.
Personality: From afar, Blythe is a cheerful, carefree girl. She seems younger than her actual age, and is often easily mistaken for something similar to a lost lamb. She appears to have her guard rather low for anyone she meets, including shady people she so happens to meet, despite this, she is often rather observant and alert.
Backstory: In the year 30 AV, a baby girl was born from a baker and a farmer. The two were over joyed that they were finally able to birth a child- one that didn't result in a miscarriage. She was named Blythe, the name showcasing their happiness over having the child, Blythe was their little girl and they would protect her from everything and anything.
As she grew up, now being around 4-6 years old, she had taken a liking to her mother's work and clumsily tried to follow through. Her mother taught her at a young age along with being educated by both parents. She took a liking to reading and also did that quite often in her free time, not having much to do otherwise. She spent most of her childhood baking and reading, that being the only activities she'd do. She wasn't allowed to go outside by her own nor did she have any friends, siblings or pets, she was sheltered and protected her whole life, it was essentially the same everyday. Despite that, she was always happy, she had yet to experience any negative emotions.
When she was 10, a pair bandits came in and ransacked their house during the night. Her father had tried to fight back but they had grabbed her mother for hostage instead, rendering her father motionless, he had given up in hopes of saving his beloved wife's life. In the end, however, they were both murdered. During this, Blythe was hiding beneath clothing in a closet, tears running down her cheeks and staining everything around her. The very first time she had cried, felt pain, rage, sorrow.
News of her parent's death reached her grandfather's ears quickly considering they lived in the same village, making him seek out the child. Blythe went with him to his house and from there lived with him for the rest of her childhood. For the two days she was alone in the house with her deceased parents, she realized that this storm of feelings inside her had hurt too much, her faint heart couldn't handle more, she couldn't cry anymore. She never wanted to feel something so terrible ever again.
In the end, it was too painful for her to live in the same village and her grandfather respected that, finding a house in another village, which was easier to do seeing as it's been a few good years since the Civil war ended. As they left the village, it became clear to Blythe that there was so much of the world she hadn't ever known of because of her parents sheltering her. She didn't even know that there was a Civil War, or about the dusk gate opening. Not even her books had mentioned any of that, which just proved the extent her parents went to making sure she wasn't worried.
Her grandfather was also a baker, in which he had continued teaching Blythe to bake. He treated her as his own daughter, but he became even more protective of her, more protective than her parents, if he couldn't have protected her parents, he would protect her with his life. Her curiosity had gotten the best of her, what else had been out there, what didn't she know of? Blythe didn't want to stay sheltered, protected all the time, she didn't want everyone to risk everything for her. She pretended to be happy so much, so often, it caused herself to begin believe the lie she had created, but she continued, falling deeper and deeper into it. She had began to memorize her grandfather's routine and snuck around the house, just to see if she were to get caught. In the few times she was, she quickly learned from those mistakes and used that to improve even further, by now, she had memorized the house, where the creaks in the floorboards were, how to avoid them and more. She had begun sneaking around since she migrated over with her grandfather and eventually she became good enough to sneak out of the house and village undetected and slip back in before dawn.
Blythe grew to be a seemingly happy, loving woman who was finally ready to leave the village. She parted with her grandfather, having to once again sneak away, she knew him too well, he would never allow it. The last that was left by her was a plate full of pastries and a note about her departure, she had boarded the nearest ship, without knowing where it was and kept her ever-persistent smile as they sailed. Of course, she had snuck her way on the ship as well, passing sailors gossiped about the town's curse, which she found out about the town's name being NightVeil.
Knowing she couldn't stay hidden for months on end, a few days after boarding the ship she had revealed herself, thankfully, the crew weren't hostile and didn't immediately throw her off the ship. They were planning on giving her to the authorities but after she bargained with them, offering to do labor around the ship in return, though that hadn't completely sealed the deal until they were persuaded further.
