Sorry for the delay! It's my first day off since you posted.
No, that section of your back story isn't absolutely vital, but the background of where he's coming from does still require explanation. You've the choice of removing it, summarizing it and placing it somewhere in the back story, or leaving it and adding lore to it.
So far as I know he was with Haussam for a year at most; This isn't really enough time to even be a novice, given music is an artistic skill and treated as a difficult one. That being said, each instrument he plays has to be listed as their own skill. Please also make the other revisions to the skills I asked. With that done your characters skill list comes to 8 skills, at 23. This is the problem. I've asked for the skill to be toned down to one instrument not just because I don't honestly think they're similar enough for him to just get how to play them, but also because your character is too heavy on skills as it is. You must remove other skills entirely for each additional instrument you want him to play. I will send you a PM with some information on how the skills break down in relation to each other to hopefully give you a better idea of how to approach this issue.
