Adreanna is a tall, proud, and young woman. Her natural height is 5’9’’, and her muscular build along with her confident posture give the impression that Adreanna is even taller. The knight appears about her age, a girl in her mid-twenties. For sure old enough to look as if she has experiences in life, but not an aged old warrior. She has a sturdy and muscular build about her that supports her position as a guard and proud knight.
Her face has sharp and defined features. Traditionally “European” features, if you will consider real-world context. High cheek bones with prominent jaw structure. Slightly thinner lips both upper and lower. Relatively flat and thin eye brows with little arch. A longer bridged and narrower nose. Finally, wider eyes with thicker eye-lids. All of this can give Adreanna a more “haughty” look to her without meaning to. Any potential air of superiority can be repressed with Addy giving a kind smile, or come as more oppressive if she brings genuine scorn.
Adreanna’s hair is a lovely bright blonde that radiates her youth. Her hair has some length to it and is on the wavy side, although not quite curly. Her hair fits an in-between of straight and curly quite nicely. When Adreanna is in her armor, she ties it back and braids it into a single pony-tail so that it may comfortably fit past her helmet. Regardless, her hair will always end up a mess when she takes the helm off. Such is natural. Adreanna tries a good deal to keep her hair well-kept when she’s off duty, often wearing it in elaborate braids.
Her eyes are a brilliant, almost stereotypical light blue. The sort of radiating color that you’d expect a Lucin to have. When exposed to water or large amounts of Aether, her eyes will glow and shine quite brightly to represent such.
Adreanna wears steel-plated armor many hours of the day for her guard work. This, paired with consistent exercise and many hiking trips up hills and mountains have given Adreanna a varied set of muscles and low body fat. Her arms, back, shoulders and chest have a strong form. Because of such, Adreanna isn’t very soft to the touch. You can feel powerful muscle and easily see it when she flexes. Her core and abdomen is also quite strong, as core muscles build from the rest of your body losing fat. She has about average/larger chest and hip size for her height and weight thanks to healthy life-style and genetics. To compliment her strong upper-body, Adreanna has just as strong lower-body to boot. Defined and thicker, more muscly thighs and well-built calf structure from all her time training cardio and hiking. This body structure is particularly useful for combat, which makes sense as it was built around such. Strong legs mean Adreanna can put a lot of weight from her lower-body into her attacks. Quite useful for using leverage as one does during sword-fights.
She has a clean and powerful voice that gives confidence and strength behind her words.
Adreanna has scars across her arms from a void-walker attack ages ago. They are varied and deep, although she is often wearing clothes that cover her arms.
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 155-160lbs
Clothing:
Adreanna is seem mostly in two outfits:
Her armor and work gear. Adreanna dons brilliant and well-crafted plate armor. The armor is a tight design and weighs about the average, around 50lbs. Meaning Adreanna has a hefty 200+ lbs to throw around in combat. The armor has a dark blue cloth/banner design over it that carries a crescent moon shape, representing Adreanna’s religion. The armor itself has a few religious symbols of Sulena on it pattered throughout. Her helmet has a nice small visor that provides reasonable sight lines and keeps out anything thicker or less precise than a knife or well directed blade. Under the armor, she has a gambeson to provide extra protection. Gambeson is common to wear under one’s armor and is good at dealing with slashing/glancing blows.
Outside of work, Adreanna wears a simple dress. She isn’t one to always strive for fancy looks. Addy has a simple dark-blue tunic with dark trousers. She keeps a work belt that can also hold her sword while active. Sturdy work boots compliment the simple attire. The most prominent bit about her outfit is the brilliant amulet Howell gifted Adreanna. “This circle shaped amulet is made of silver and has a black triquetra on its front, surrounded by multiple small, pretty blue stones. The back is engraved – ‘Goddess Sulena, may she watch over you.’” This amulet is clearly expensive and quite attention-grabbing. Adreanna considers it a precious gift.

"Vow that we shall tear the Dark,
Light take the Throne
So obtain the fate you sow
On this path, be weary friend and foe"
Light take the Throne
So obtain the fate you sow
On this path, be weary friend and foe"
Adreanna is a bit of a mixed bag that makes her a great knight on paper but insecurities tend to get in her way. Adreanna, is first and foremost, a knight. She is humble, strong, loyal, caring and honor bound. She cherishes being a knight and attempts to live up to her full potential. Adreanna at her core is a sweet person who wishes to live a normal life among the Mesalians. If one is to dig enough, he or she will find a playful and intelligent girl as well who can be flexible and energetic.
Adreanna hides all of this though. She keeps a bit of a layer in front of herself that may make her seem cold or standoffish. Unfortunately, this colder layer is what just about anyone will see the first time encountering Adreanna and quite possibly what he or she will see the many times after. Adreanna does this to hide a number of things. The first are her insecurities, but the other reasons are to mask that sweetness. Adreanna feels that if she is too nice to people, they will not take her seriously as a guard. Adreanna wants others to know of, and respect her, and she feels the best way to accomplish this is with being a tad mean at times. Adreanna will never push the limits though as her sweet side prevents abuse. Her religious ties also prevent her from doing anything disgusting or drastic.
Adreanna also has a bit of weaknesses and insecurities. She’s first off, very self aware. Blemishes or ugly wounds are quickly hidden to avoid judgment. Adreanna’s self awareness also leads to feeling the need to be defensive when anything and I mean anything, questions her ability as a knight. Adreanna carries many phobias as well. The strongest of her phobias comes from anxiety as the result of an attack from a Void Walker when she was a child. The anxiety strikes great fear of Void Walkers when Adreanna spots one; fear so great that the anxiety attack often be paralyzing for her. Adreanna also has a fear of the pitch darkness, as in zero visibility, which is most likely another psychological result of the attack from the Void Walker. Finally, she fears the concepts of ghosts and super natural. Anything that Adreanna can’t cut down with her sword or see yet still can have physical affect on the world around her scares her. Even if ghosts don’t exist and it is a bit of a silly fear, Adreanna is easily spooked by the excessively creepy and unknown. Any other hold backs to her ability as a knight would be that she is a tad squeamish with blood. Adreanna will deny all of this and refuse to admit she is afraid. Ever. She has a tendency to pick herself up and make excuses if she has to, if not for someone else, than for herself.
If anything can be said of her, Adreanna is a determined and persistent girl. She works brilliantly under pressure and is able to keep calm in dangerous situations. Adreanna has an odd determination to fulfill any task requested of her to her fullest extent and to never let anyone down. Adreanna’s determination comes from two sources: A need to never let her superiors down, and a need to prove things to herself. Adreanna is a Lucin that hides her true race from others. Adreanna hates being ridiculed or thought of differently because of her race, and she strives daily to show herself that she can be just as strong as any Mesalian can without the need of relying on her powers.
KNIGHT CODE OF HONOR
OOC: This is a code of honor Adreanna lives by as she as knighted by her church. I pulled a good amount from the real life chivalry codes that knights followed as they apply well here. Others were just made up and poorly made to mimic the the language style.
1. Thou shalt believe all that the Church teaches and thou shalt observe all its directions
2. Thou shalt defend the Church
3. Thou shalt never lie, and shalt remain faithful to thy pledged word
4. Thou shalt respect all weaknesses, and shalt constitute thyself the defender of them
5. Thou shalt not recoil before thine enemy.
6. Thou shalt make war against the infidel without cessation and without mercy
7. Thou shalt be generous, and give largesse to everyone
8. Thou shalt end thine enemy swiftly and justly
9. Thou shalt defend Right and Good till thou's last breath
10. Thou shalt be everywhere and always the champion of the Right and the Good against Injustice and Evil
11. DEUS VULT (OOC)
Knight Rankings:
Position of rank and power in the order Adreanna follows
Squires - Most common or second most common. Many young girls take up being a squire under Sulena and receive training, discipline, and experience from a knight they are assigned to.
Knights - The most prominent of those in the order. Knights carry out tasks and their duty to conquer evil and aid all they can. Knights are well skilled and well respected. Many stay at this level for their entire lives.
Paladin - Only the few elite of this order can reach the rank of Paladin. A Paladin usually has exceptional skill in combat and strategy, making them able to lead a platoon of knights to battle. Paladins are most often assigned tasks too difficult or dangerous for the lower ranking members of the order and do so with stride and perfection. Finally, they act as the model and symbol for young girls to aspire to. In order to achieve status of Paladin, a knight must deal with several combat and strategy tests presented from the church to test their skill. Then a representative that the knight brought along must speak well of the knight to the church. The representative cannot be family and must give a strong argument of while the knight deserves the status of Paladin. Said representative tells good will and strength the knight has brought to her assignments and convinces the other Paladins she deserves the title.
Grand Paladin - The leader of Sulena's forces in this town. Only one Grand Paladin is present in leadership. Only one who has shown mastery in combat, leadership, and tactics can take the role of Grand Paladin. The Grand Paladin handles all incoming issues and assigns knights and lesser paladins.

- Swordsmanship/Combat (Competent): Adreanna’s bread and butter, swordsmanship is something she took after while learning to be a knight of Sulenna. Adreanna knows a few things about and has some experience with combat along with plenty of training. She can identify how to combat weaponry; however, Adreanna is only skilled with using her Long Sword.
Fighting Style
- Healing/First-Aid (Apprentice): Adreanna was taught some first aid during her time training to be a knight. She knows nothing huge and by no means is a doctor, but she can apply some “Battle Ready” remedies and use some makeshift materials to keep a body closed enough till she can get the person to a real doctor. Adreanna can also deal with smaller wounds without assistance, but she prefers to avoid stitches and large samples of blood due to her squeamish ways.
- Cooking (Apprentice): Adreanna can cook a decent meal or two. Similar to her first aid skill, she’s no professional, but Adreanna is able to make a quick and simple meal and it will have some taste.
- Lucin Power Water (Advanced*): Her natural born power, Adreanna practiced when she was alone or at her home where nobody could see. She has become quite skilled and is finally allowed to practice in the open.
- Lucin Power Wind (Easy*): She has it used wind every once in a while, but has not truly gone into it. She does not have too much interest into wind powers.
- Lucin Power Aether (Easy*): Adreanna has used Aether once in a while but has not used it too often, especially due to her past with not having too many other Lucins around. Adreanna may practice it a bit more in the future though.

Note, I post this to keep myself in check as to what Adreanna typically does. One can also check this to gauge what she’s strong at (Zoning from distance, close quarters leverage) and what she’s bad at (Defending projectiles, power-exploitation). This is free for users but I’d ask you not to meta-game me if you do read. A character shouldn’t magically know how to best her because you read this.
Adreanna is a very tactical and intelligent fighter. She’s not the most talented, but she’s gifted when it comes to thinking her way to victory. She can make a detailed plan and back-ups, using her strategical knowledge to overcome opponents who may be more skilled or more practiced. Adreanna trains with her blade often as good upkeep, and his strong due to her athletic lifestyle.
She will often use her longsword as means to out range her opponents. Her sword has rings on the cross guard that give it some extra weight and protection. This makes thrusting attacks quite easy to control and manipulate for the user. So, keeping her opponent out of range comes quite easily for Adreanna. Paired with her armor, she has a formidable defense. Adreanna uses this time to gauge what the opponent is attempting to do in battle and think of counter strategy. When Adreanna has plan devised, she will take initiative on it.
Adre will excel in close range due to several leverage and grappling techniques used in swordplay that she practices often. Adreanna is a strong proponent of “half-swording”. A manover in which one grips the blade with hand to gauge better control. She’ll often use this against opponents as to trap their sword along the guard of hers, and then proceed to use leverage and weight to manipulate the close-range fight. Her natural weight and armor make Adreanna quite bulky and she is well able to throw the weight about for strong attacks.
Her best strengths come from the armor. The armor requires a lot of force with a well-timed hit to be effective. Blunt weaponry must get in close enough to apply the force. Sword users, especially those with cutting blades, may find themselves in trouble with the armor.
Her weaknesses derive from mid-range, where her blade doesn’t out-reach opponents and she can’t use as many leverage techniques. Another weakness is her Lucin blood. If one can exploit it then Adreanna, as most Lucins, would wither to become quite weak. Finally, Adreanna is not as well-versed in her racial powers as one would expect. She’s good enough to use her attuned power, water, but knows little of the other two elements. Adreanna also lacks a shield to defend herself against arrows or other ranged attacks.

Barriere was always a simple family with a simple merchant house. Joules Barriere was and is a merchant of Lucin decent. Joules was never a rich merchant to that of the Spece family, but he is a hardworking one. His wife, Marie, had the tendency to stay at home and work on usual housing chores. The two lived quite the simple life in the Celestial Kingdom. This was just fine. Barriere family never wanted a large and extravagant life.
This lifestyle was stable and reliable, bringing little attention. But with all good things, they must come to some sort of end. Joules never spoke of how, but his greatest failure as a merchant came during perhaps the worst time. His wife was expecting a child soon and the expenses from such alone would’ve taken a total on the family. It did not help that Joules was conned from what he thought was a reliable trade family.
Joseph Spece, eldest brother of the Spece trading family, hoodwinked the inferior merchant. Joules suddenly found himself owning a plentiful sum of money to the family, and due to such simple and humble lifestyle, he could not afford the payment. The only option left was to run. Joules knew his name would be tainted and he’d be hunted to repay with either gold or blood, but he simply could not force his wife and soon to be child to be sold into slavery, or worse. Joules was a man of his word, but he did not promise to return every last coin. Instead he promised to lead his wife to safety. So he ran.
Joules was fully aware of the Mesalian civil war, but he had to take a chance. He and his wife made a crafty escape, using various hideaways and friends who would assist him to avoid any trouble from guards or Spece family and move onward to the Middle Realm. From here, the Barriere family took off to a place of prejudiced that was filled with Mesalian skepticism: The Town of Tether Port. Tether port was a place that was said for Lucins to avoid. The people, while inherently not violent, carry negative behaviors and actions to Lucins and Xitians. Which is why it would make the perfect hiding spot for the Barriere family. Spece company, if sending any mercenaries or loan sharks, would send the superior Lucin breed over Mesalians. Those Lucins would be easily spotted and stick out from the crowd with insignia and armor and be driven out. Joules was smart enough to remove such, and any evidence with being a Lucin, before coming into town. Life in Tether Port was difficult. Just getting into the town was a hassle as many questioned the decent of the Barriere family. To hide such, excuses were made, explanations to behaviors, accents, and outcomes. All of it to hide the family so that in time Tether Port would come to support them. In time for the third member of the family to enter the world. This was just fine.
Adreanna in the midst of the civil war. She was too young to partake in the wars, and her parents, being Lucins, had no interest to get involved with such affairs. During these times, the family had to be quiet and keep out of sights for the Mesalian carnage. Adreanna also lived a bit of a secret life with her parents giving her at least some backing to traditional Lucin teachers, such as the use of powers, when the family was behind closed doors. Joules returned work as a merchant, slowly earning a stable life for the family, and Adreanna had made many adjustments to living a bit of a double life. As a child she was timid, fearful, and kept away from many, which assisted in keeping the family secret. Adreanna preferred to stay with mother as other kids could be mean or rude. Adreanna learned some basic morals and teaching from mother, but nothing serious until she was around eight years of age when Marie decide to take the time to teach Adreanna how to cook to some extent. During her young age, Adreanna and her family became invested with the Mesalian pagan gods. Adreanna in specific found herself interested in Sulena and the tales of any strong women who serve under her.
When disaster strikes for the family, it tends to strike hard. Luckily, fate did not decide to rip away Adreanna prematurely from the Barriere household. At the age of ten, in the dead of storm filled night, Adreanna was left helpless. Something, or someone, had been watching her. Being sure to scare her. But this night, whatever it was, it struck. She was attempting to fall asleep, but couldn’t with the paranoia of the beast. Adreanna tried to light some sort of candle or cry out but she just couldn’t. Her body was still. The beast that had been stalking her was watching, staring. And she starred right back. A Void Walker, a not so common dusk in many parts, was haunting Adreanna. And it struck. The Void Walker broke though her home and made an attempt on her life, scratching at Adreanna’s arms as she made some attempt to defend herself. The noise from the commotion raised her father to defense, saving Adreanna from the beast. She was not unscathed. Her blanket was torn in many pieces and her arms were cut up. Adreanna was quickly rushed to a clinic where she spent some time recovering physically. The stalking, haunting, darkness and attack however, would take a toll on Adreanna’s mental being.
When Adreanna was twelve, not only had the Civil War ended, but she was permitted to fully invest herself to Sulena. She wanted to be like the strong women she’d always see; she wanted to be like the knights. She already practiced with the Mesalian pagan gods and her family was accepted under the church. So they took her in and began training as she learned ways of becoming a ‘Knight’. Not a true knight of course, which would require Adreanna to have come from nobility and serve under a lord. No, Adreanna would be a knight of Sulena. Destined to protect others and work for the people, but to also work for the Mesalian god; to strike down evil in Suelena’s name. For many years Adreanna would practice and learn the blade, first aid and battle tactics. She’d be sent out on tasks to help others in various tasks that required her or to preach Sulena and her religion. That was just fine.
At the age of twenty Adreanna received an odd task. Not from her church but from father. He was worried. With the numerous events such as the opening the portals, and Joules having a strange feeling in his gut, he’d request Adreanna to travel away. Joules kept his intentions hidden, said that it was best for her safety. As much as Adreanna argued as she wanted to stay and protect her family, he demanded she go. Joules, in honesty, wanted Adreanna to leave and make a life elsewhere. Joules wanted Adreanna to discover herself and her own path in a place where she could be safer. He knew with the limitations she’s always had when regarding race, Adreanna could never accomplish such and be truly happy at Tether Port. Adreanna requested a leave on behalf of her church, to which they allowed the travel, even paying for the expenses. It seems the town’s church saw this as an opportunity for Adreanna to spread their word. So Adreanna would be off to the Forbidden Lands. Her destination was a town recently rediscovered as it made a good target for religious practice, Nightveil. That was just fine.
- 3.5~ Pounds in weight
- Double edged
- Basket Hilt covers the entire hilt
Sulena's Knights Armor: Steel armor, once again capturing the knightly design and ideas. There are some special colors and patters to signify the order of knights and distinguish them from others.
