[Approved] Ezri Connors
#1
Mire will be exiled in the marrow, being sent away from Alroc for the murder of the man she once called her master. The ship that arrives to take her away, will return a few days later to stay.

Name: Ezri Lapis Connors
AKA: Captain Lapis, Dread Pirate Lapis, Pirate Bitch, Ezrita
Age: 38
Skills:
[Sailing and Swordsmanship have not changed from Ezri’s original application. The skill ‘deception’ (from original application) has become ‘mercantile’ in lieu of her skill level with sailing (which it is in relation to) and her reform, it also has raised in rank. Carpentry has raised in rank, and Masonry is the only new skill.]
Sailing - (Advanced)
Ezri has been raised on ships, and has served as crew since she was old enough to toddle across a deck. She loves the excitement and the serenity of sailing. She knows how to rig, operate and maintain most types of ships. But, unlike most career sailors, she also knows how to sink or cripple ships, captain them, trade, salvage, smuggle, read maps, and navigate. There’s few things involving the sea and ships Ezri’s not had a taste of at some point or another in her career as either a pirate or a (mostly) upstanding merchant.

Swordswoman- (Competent) [Right - Apprentice] [Left - Competent]
In order to live as a pirate and smuggler since 15 it becomes imperative that you know how to kill a man quickly and efficiently. Otherwise you don’t live to see Ezri’s age at all. After a crippling injury to one of her hands it’s taken Ezri more than a decade to regain the finesse she once had with her right, now with her left. She duel wields now that she has some dexterity back in the injured hand, but tends to lean heavily to the left knowing it’s her stronger hand. Sadly, due to the injury, Ezri will never advance further with this skill, and her daily training is just to maintain what use she has.

^ Carpentry - (Competent)
Ezri has been learning carpentry off and on for the last decade. She doesn't do it much for money most of her efforts were for rebuilding or building new structures as needed. She however has the skill necessary to do so, she just doesn’t need nor want to. She enjoys the act of building and repairing homes, though struggles still with making furniture.

+ Masonry - (Apprentice)
When she returned to Auria the town was still in recovery from the Volcano. As such she took part of the recovery and even set to help build the home her family now lives in. She can build a foundation, wall, fence or even make simple repairs to damaged walls or foundations. She is not good at making bricks or laying tile.

^ Mercantile - (Apprentice)
Ezri has always had to trade and bargain for supplies for her ship as a captain. But now she does so for the family business and the town of Auria. She knows how to barter deals for trade and is acutely aware of the processes of input and export. Ezri never over pays for shipping, she'd sooner use her own boat. She’s no tycoon, especially given her proclivity to just take the hard to get item she wants over fair bargaining. Essentially she knows more then enough to be dangerous.

Return Story
Ezri and her family left Ravenna to return to the clear waters and warm shores of Auria. Inspite of the volcano the little town was recovering and when the Connors arrived, they became a big boon to the towns recovery. They could bring supplies in from outside town and Ezri easily found herself with work building. She even got the opportunity to learn how to lay foundations in her time restoring and rebuilding Auria.

Things in town for them remained simple, up until Ezri’s husband, Rook, got his brewery in full operation. It didn’t take long before he was out producing what the town could drink. Seeing the potential for profit, Ezri started trading and selling her husbands wares. At first this was fine, she’d take a trip out every few weeks and spend the time in between with her family and working in town. But as her husbands business thrived, Ezri started spending more and more time away from home. Which wasn’t very lucky as she’d often make twice the enemies she would friends when traveling. Finally it became obvious they’d needed another ship, they named this new ship the Adele. The Adele afforded Ezri two very important things; First, was the ability to defend her friends and family, as the ship came complete with some loving additions (ballistas) provided by none other than the Stonefire clan of Linedia. The second, was the ability to delegate most of the back and forth of trade to the second ship. This made Ezri able to better manage her time between business and family.

Unsurprisingly, Ezri eventually ended up pregnant a third time, but she was still traveling. Her latest trip had her arrive home in labor scarcely in time for Rook to be present for the birth of his twins, Knight and Ruby. The latter of which, Ruby, nearly killed Ezri on her way out. For a while Ezri’s recovery was touch and go. Which left her husband with no explanation for the mute girl that had arrived with her from the mainlands.

When she was strong enough she introduced the girl she’d been calling Copper. In what became Ezri’s last trip to Provincia, Copper had got between Ezri’s dearest friend, Zarkaylia, and a knife. So Ezri took the girl for her own, and made her part of the family. The sudden expansion of their family caused some friction between Ezri and her eldest daughter, Lapis. Lapis had never been very supportive of her mother and her return home with two sisters and a brother had been a little overwhelming for her. Ezri’s struggles with Lapis weren't new but this left their relationship strained.

After Ezri had recovered fully, Rook gifted his wife with a new ship they named the Yuma II. It was a replica of a small ship she’d lost during the volcanic eruption in Auria. The gesture alone brought Ezri to tears, and reminded her why she’d married a dirt farmer. This gave Ezri the ability to sail on her own if she wanted to, without the need of the large crew the Adele and Snow needed. This bit of solace became important to Ezri as her life had become complicated and full of friends and family, sometimes she just wanted to be alone with her thoughts… or her husband.

One fateful day, Ezri received a letter from Zarkaylia asking for help in Ravenna. To Ezri, Zark was family, and that afforded her loyalty and support. Ezri gathered her crew and set out with the Adele to see what she could do for Ravenna. She found a blockade and a community half-starved and desperate to escape. So she helped ferry them to a new home. Not asking anything in return given by this point she’d owed quite a bit to Zark.

When she returned to Auria some stability was restored in her life, things returned to a simpler state. Ezri spent as much time with her family as she did working, often times though while drinking. This habit of hers was hard for her not to have given her husband brewed for a living. It was also one she didn’t manage particularly well. So much so others started to notice. It was a matter of time another captain’s greed toward her family's fortune and her drinking had brought danger to her family. An attempt to rob the Connors had put her children into a life threatening situation. This had left the mother deeply worried for all her children to the point of paranoia. Walls went up around their home and farm, and Ezri brought her drinking to almost a complete halt. For a while she became overprotective of her brood and let her work in all other areas start to lapse.

This was however very short lived. Ezri is never without a wealth of friends and family that love and care about her. Enough time to get over the fear and guilt of what had happened, Ezri was able to let her children out of her iron grip again, and return to her work as she should. She spent the majority of her time working in town, and making local shipments. Though she never again drank as she once did. This is how things remained until she got another letter from Zark…

Alroc was now in trouble, the events of Ravenna threatened to repeat itself. This left Ezri conflicted and hesitant to act. Zark had done a great deal for her and her family, but the only solution Ezri could think of for Zarkaylia… meant leaving her family. Ezri agonized over her loyalty to one part of her family over the well being of another. Eventually she decided she’d have to split her time, as much as possible, between home and Alroc until things improved. In the mean time she let Lapis manage the trade business. The responsibility and trust given to the girl helped Ezri win back some of her daughters respect and love. Lapis would have Ezri’s crews to aid her, and the rest of her family for support. After some tearful goodbyes Ezri set off alone in the Yuma II to Alroc.
