im 23 years old and ive seen my fair share of hardships as it is life is turning around but ya ive had a dark era in my life family died in house fire i became homless at 15 at 18 i got shot in the back and the list goes on still im a freindly caring guy who would give the shirt off my back if it helps someone a ive got 4 years in dark rp exp

CHARACTER INFORMATION

Name: James Reaver

Appearance: Mr. Reaver has platinum blond hair wears glasses and has a scar on his right cheek  he has a lean but muscular build to himself and carries himself as a warrior 
Personality:  is a strong willed fighter who puts his fellow allies before himself, he can be boastful, but only in a friendly jest. He's calm collective and above all a brilliant strategist. And if you get to know him past his rough exterior you'll see he's the best friend you'll ever have however his ego may come off a bit uptight surely not as bad as it was but still there, often making himself apologies. Old habits die hard as they say.
Backstory:Reaver was born into a prestigious Catholic family in the town of nightveil. He grew up in a well off lifestyle due his father and mother being  well-known knights. His education was no exception, given going to a well-known private school he was guided into greatness by his stern father who encouraged him to go into sports and would take him on yearly hunting trips to make a man of his young son. However, being wealthy did have its drawbacks, but who could blame him living entitled life. His father wanted to see his son grow up to be a man of honor and someone to look up to a hero of sorts but due to spoiling him at a young age. His mother teaching him in the ways of her and his father family name and the meaning behind it known as the crusaders. Teaching him Biblical verses and combat strategies as well as how to look after those wounded and such. However this didnt last long as he was soon
orphaned as a child at the age of 13 due to his two parents Derick and Eve Reaver died fighting for the Mesalians during Mesalians civil war. He was later sent their swords at the age of 16 he and was assined to be trained by a friend of the two and trained by him to follow in his parents footsteps as a knight. Learning everything he could from the man each day getting better and better Reaver grew close with the man looking to him as a step father of sorts. Eventually he moved out and joined the knights at the age of 18 and put in the same unit like his parents before him. He received his new title as knight at the age of 20 after fighting and showing great leadership during one of many battles in the war which also gave him a scar on his cheek from a enemy blade at first it was hard getting used to it but after a while it was easy to bear. Serving  the next 13 years fighting till the end of the war it was during those years that followed he became a seasoned warrior and became a leader of his own unit. when he witnessed the dusk gate open he  began prepping for his unit and him to traveled  back home it took time but eventually his lord allowed it but only for him. Eventually he traveled to his home town of nightveil so that he may make sure they are protected as his parents did before him

1.     Grammar. Although Mesalia uses Minecraft as a backdrop, our RP is mostly text based. Thus, we require you to show some grammar proficiency in your application and RP. You don’t have to be a professional linguist, but basic things like capitalization, punctuation and sentence structure should be present.

2.     Race. Please list what race your character is. The story seems to imply that he’s Lucin. For reference, new players cannot play Xitians or Lucins. Only those approved by staff can have access to those races. As a new applicant, you can play a Mesalian. If your character is a Mesalian, well, they can’t use powers.

3.     Backstory. The character story should give more detail on to who James is. You don’t have to detail every year, but it feels like there’s quite a bit missing. Try to explore the character and explain what they were like as a child. Did they have any friends? How did they act around others? How was this changed by lore events? When James grew older, how close was he to his new mentor? What was it like being in the knights? What did he do in the timeframe between ages 20 to 37?

4.     Lore Events. Your backstory implies James’s parents fighting in the War of Veld, but there’s not too much lore discussed outside out that. Just so you’re aware, the current year is 49 AV. So, 49 years after the War of Veld. Meaning if your character was 13 when his parents were killed, that would make him roughly around his 60s in current setting. Getting further into lore bits, there is no mention of the Purge, the Mesalian Civil Wars, the reopening of the Dusk Portal, or the dragons.

Hello again, it's time for round 2.

Lore: Catholicism does not exist in Mesalia. Please see our official religion lore. https://www.mesalia.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=220

Furthermore, the crusades as known in history seemed to be implied in the story, but those are non-existent in our lore. This ties into what you said to be “biblical verses”. While religious teaching exists, they likely wouldn’t be in the form of a Catholic bible.

Conflicts with Setting: Our current RP setting is Nightveil. It is a small town with its own history. Your backstory conflicts too much with the history of the town. There aren’t “Well known private schools” around. I’d suggest having James born and raised in a different town. (Most people make one up on the Mainland) Especially since you mention James’s parents dying in the Mesalian Civil Wars. Nightveil is located on the Forbidden Lands, so it seems odd that his parents would leave their son for fighting a conflict roughly three months away by boat. Just to be clear, your character has to end at Nightveil, which is located on the Forbidden Lands, a separate continent from the Mainlands.

Skills: Your backstory mentions teachings of combat strategies but your skill list doesn’t follow suit. Various war tactics and implementation of strategies is a tedious study that takes practice and knowledge to execute well. This is also true of leadership, which is mentioned.
