ZEREK SLITHER

(Old Drawing is irrelevant, but it'll do for now.)
Full Name: Zerek Lance Slither
Also Known As: "Mister Slither", "'Erek"
Age: 33
Gender: Male
Race: Lucin (Full Blood)
Birthday: 1st
Personality
Arrogant and selfish as he was before, Zerek seems to have become a friendlier and somewhat selfless person. The man has a more hidden complex, but it hides among the layers of a remade man.
Traversing away from his former self, Zerek seems to have taken on a more humble persona over the years. At face value he has the makings of a moral figure, though not all things are settle and consistent with this description. He maintains a cold edge on him if something happens that he despises. Though today this side of him is much harder to grab as the stuck up, arrogant noble fell into getting a more accepting look of things. He hasn't forgotten his life with his parents. As his more negative traits disappeared over the years, his more gentlemanly and proper ones came up to. From treating women a bit more gently and old-fashioned to holding the door open for someone meaning to enter.
Zerek tends to stay away from being biased on any issue, but sometimes finds himself doing so when it involves something he holds very dear. This can many times lead to less trusting words around those interacting with him. With this being said, what he says often shifts from being opinionated to being factual. Shifting left and right with ideas depending on how he feels about the subject in hand.
He often times proceeds to add 'Miss' or 'Mister' in before a person's name given to him, but that title giving usually fades away as he spoke with a closer friend. That's not to say he'll completely drop it if someone gets closer to him. He also seem to give titles to those he openly despises, though these seems less harsh than he used to make them.
Zerek Strongly resents any racial assumptions and labeling. Even with his now high tolerance for others, it won't take much in terms of being 'racist' to anger the man. He himself views everyone equally, in almost every way except the obvious weaknesses and strengths that come with powers. That of which you couldn't say would make them equals.

Appearance
Zerek at face value appears studious and humble. At the same time, he could be viewed as snobbish looking, even in the way of having collected a few scars on his face and no longer pampering his hair. As far as his looks go, he has: a thin, pointed nose; a sharp and predominant chin-bone; narrow, sharp and crisp blue eyes; medium arching and narrow eyebrows, often times emphasizing an expression that much more. His hair is a natural, flashy blonde, with a normal length of around where the cervical vertebrae hits the neck on the back. His hair holds a straight style to it, as it more fit the childish person he was rather than now. Though he usually does fix it up to make it less look like so. He bears a set of scar nearly parallel with each other on his face. One cuts it close to being on his eye, while the other is on the side of his chin. They aren't the greatest looking things, but it's not a necessarily disgusting sight. His face is otherwise nice to look at.
He's a decent sized man, scaling in at a 5'11" (roughly 180 Centimeters in metric). His figure is tall and skinny, though he had acquired some muscle on him. His body figure and stature are sharp like his face. With decent broadness in his shoulders and a rather static yet nice body curve. His own previously gloved hands are slightly worn, but still hold a great amount of health in them. His skin tone is a healthy pale, not too surprising of a Lucin his age to have.
Zerek dons a simple looking outfit. It wouldn't be an overstatement to say that he looks like a church monk in the well made robe. This simple attire includes: An upper piece somewhat resembling a tunic. It's fine made material offers a good-looking, yet not flashy torso piece; A light brown robe belt stretching across his body just above his waist. So much to keep his clothing closer to his body; Deeper, richer colored pants. Practical in its slight bagginess; and classic leather shoes on the bottom, as well made as the rest of his attire. All of the same style, one might assume someone made the piece; Tight fitting grey shirt and pants underneath the over attire, serving as a pajama and relax wear of sorts. The style of his torso item is long-sleeved, with the ends reaching his wrists. The design is nothing spectacular, yet it's by no means a rubbish looking piece of cloth. The robe belt shows off his figure a little more than a normal robe would. It's not really meant for keeping the torso together so much as it is to keep it closer in to him. His pants are of the same style as the shirt. With the exception of added bagginess, probably to move around easier. The shoes were the least good-looking of these things, as it wasn't meant for any kind of good look in mind, unlike the others that had at least some in them. The undershirt and pants are much similar to his earlier purple underwear. Minus the fluff the proper and elegant attire the former had.
Some other things to note on him is that he usually keep pouch packs strapped on him, on his back. Filled with usually essential things like food and water. it's sometimes used for his gardening/farming, to pack around seeds. These dull blue packs are simple in their design, a simple strap going around the body, across his chest and over his shoulder. These straps were built into the pouches, so taking off the pouch means having to take off the thing. His dagger is another thing, as he keeps tucked on his side, between two strands on his robe belt. It's a simple dagger made of iron in a sheath made of wood and carved with a few details on it.

BackStory (Already Accepted Bit)
It had started on a nice, cool day. In the Celestial Realm, Levi Slither was just on his way to meet up with some Politics for his first meeting as a rightful Politic of Noble blood. He was set to a single mind goal. Win support. He had been taught by his own father how to be a good speaker, and a good negotiator. He was a valuable asset to the Government. Very Valuable. He did come to the meeting and saw that everyone was in place, but one. A young woman, Named Melony Mutou. He thought she was beautiful. Long, blonde, wavy hair. Deep, blue eyes. Lips that just made men wonder. He sure did wonder alright. During the meeting, he couldn't pay a bit of attention to his elder Politics, no. He noticed her, and she seemed to notice him... The meeting was in mid-session...
One of the elderly Politics speak.
"Alright, now... It seems to me that the Xitians are nearly halted. This war... IS just about over. But, we do need to get finale permission on sending in some extra soldiers for the cause."
Levi decides to interrupt, his voice demanding.
"Are you insane? We have already lost too many, sending more will not do anything."
"Excuse me, Mr. Slither?"
A few of the others started chattering, and Levi's best man, A Politic Elder by the name of Hetle, stepped in front of Levi.
"Excuse me, Boy. You be making a mistake. If you don't go with those above you, you will falter." After saying this, he abruptly threw an Air Punch into his right cheek, sending him to the ground with a large thud. He continued.
"Learn your place..."
Levi stood up, nodded, remaining silent for the rest of the meeting. The meeting was long, and tenacious. Levi constantly fidgeted... But alas, it finally ended, the perms for extra troops was passed. Levi goes to get his things when he felt a tugging on his arm. When he looked back, he seen Melony tugging on his arm. She started. Her voice was delicate, soft. A bit of a Middle Realm twang to it, but it did not seem to nudge the good out.
"Excuse me, Mr. Slither. May I have a word with you?"
"Sure, I... do not see the problem in that at all."
This is where they met. A bit odd, but they talked and talked. They grew close together, and started a relationship. Through this relationship, there was rejoice at the end of War, and he decided to propose to her a few weeks after. She accepted, very happy with it. They went to the Middle Realm for the "HoneyMoon" Sort of thing. They visited Nice Cities Like Chrysoar, and not so nice cities, like Provensia. They did have adventure down there. But, they decided to settle down. When they got back, they decided to have a child. And this Child was named, Zerek.
Zerek was born just like any other child, except the luxuries which Nobles had. The Lucin lived his infancy in the care of his loving mother, and house butlers and maids left after Levi's father died in the War of Veld... The child was very spoiled in his very young years. The care of a single child made Melony want another. By the time Zerek was 4, the birth of his little brother took place. Alec Slither. He seemed to look a lot like his older sibling when he was born, and got the same care as well.
Now, Zerek was reaching the age to start training his powers he have as a Lucin. 8 years of age, his brother still only 4. His highly paid trainer asked him a good question. What is it that you want to be taught? Zerek chose Wind. The power to manipulate Wind. He was always very amused with it. Not like a child with a toy, but real curiosity with it. He does get slight training with Aether to heal, but this is minimal.
Levi was a strict man. Very strict. Mostly Single minded and rude. He really did expect too much out of Zerek. Pushing him to his limits more than once. If Zerek were to not to obey or succeed, he would simply get grounded in some god-aweful way. The way Strict parents ground their children, only about 5 times worse. Alec was treated the same, but Alec obeyed more often than Zerek. Zerek has driven his patience over and over.
Backtracking, Levi was given a Dagger by his father before he went to fight in the war. The Dagger has been in the family for some time, going back to Levi's Great Grandpa. At first, his greedy little mind wanted it sold, but he had better intentions. He seeks a trainer to teach him how to wield a Dagger for self-defense. Yes, he thought. It's better safe than sorry. Zerek took early interest in the dagger. Enough to sway Levi to not only teach him how to be a good Politic, but trained him in the dagger, for self-defense.
Now, Levi was not just a Father to Zerek and Alec. He was almost like a strict Master, teaching his apprentice. During Zerek's Early teens times, he forcibly taught him about Politics, and how they worked. Zerek did seem interested in Politics, but hates the too-often Quarrels that came with it. Zerek and Alec had many points about politics. Alec was peaceful, and submissive. Zerek done what he thought was right, and ruthless in doing so. This comes to a reason later in Zerek's life.
Zerek doesn't take the death of loved ones easily... It came out of nowhere, really. His mother fell ill. Very ill. And Rhise and all the celestial realm could not help the poor dear. She died, right on her bed. The illness unknown, Zerek went through to try to study illnesses. Sadly, his father shut him down, and told him that's not where he was meant to be. Not at all...
Years passed, And Zerek grew to be a fine, young man. Proper and well-groomed. He was given the chance to attend his first politic meeting, with Levi. He accepted, and was liking the chance of doing so. They arrive to the meeting, seeing that all is in place... The meeting, Levi said to Zerek, was about the Civil war happening down in the Middle Realm among Mesalians. Zerek, by no means, think the Lucins should get involved... Though during most of this, it seems most were in favor of involving their soldiers in this.
The Most Elder spoke, his voice cracky.
"Are we in decision of sending some to fight on a determined side, to end such rubbish started by the Mesalians?"
"Aye." Said another elder.
"Yes sir." Said someone else at the meeting.
The Elder continued on.
"Right. Mr.Slither, would you be willing to have the signing of the document at your home tonight?"
Levi responded, standing proudly at the recognition.
"More than willing, sir..."
"Then I will be seeing you. Until then, this meeting is over."
With this, Zerek seen a chance to stop this. He waited, late into the night. Waiting... Waiting... He sneaks out of his bed, and goes to wake Alec from his bed as well. Alec didn't seem to like the idea too much though, and cursed his brother when awoken. He quieted down a bit though, and they both snuck to the room next to where the signing was about to take place. Levi's bedroom. He and Alec waited by the door to his bedroom, when Alec became a bit unsure about it. He whispered quietly.
"Brother, maybe you are mistaken. They would most likely have a good reason to send our people to fi-"
"What? You are joking, right? Why send them to fight?"
"I don't like it too much either, but look. We are just kids..."
"Do not give me that, Alec. We are not little children, fascinated at toys. We must have say in this!"
And with a single movement, Zerek moved into the room. He quickly noted two guards, the Elder, and his father. The two guards were almost symmetrical, and looked like they could knock someone like Zerek on the ground no problem. He wasn't afraid of such though. He quickly confronts the two others, where everyone in the room glared at him. Alec stayed back, watching intently as Zerek made a fool of himself.
"What in the Nether!" The Elder proclaimed, looking to Levi for answers.
"Zerek... What are you doing here?" Levi prompted to his son.
"Stopping this. You can't send more people."
"Really? Do you know where you stand in this?"
"High enough!"
"Boy, you should know your place..."
Levi approaches his son, anger in his eyes. Zerek stands there, trying not to be phased by what is next to come. Levi speaks again, his voice harsh, cold.
"You are an immature child. You don't know what's going on down there! You don't know why we are doing this! Boy, know your place. I taught you better than this, why do you defy me?"
Levi then single-handily sent a jab to Zerek's stomach, sending him onto his knees. Levi orders his guards to hold him up, and stares him straight in the eyes.
"You have tested me, and went too far. Guards, send him to the Middle realm. Better yet..."
He narrows his eyes, and grins a toothy grin.
"The Forbidden Lands. Where the Wildlife will teach you a lesson on how to survive on your own terms."
With this, he was escorted that night to the Middle Realm, where he was sent to a ship. He was forced, and the Captain of the vessel was told to keep him restrained, fed, and watered along the way. For Zerek, this was a long boat rid, and he hated large bodies of water. Why? Much is unknown about this, and he doesn't like it himself. He tried thinking the positive. Maybe this trip will get rid of his fears, and become strong. Maybe there were civilization, where he could help helpless folk. It didn't matter though, cause his boat ride made him nauseous.
Well, after months of agonizing, restrained travel, he was kicked off the boat, to the fair town of Auria, where his new life began. Off the shore to Auria, though, the Captain called him on deck, where he deviously threw him off.
"There is land up on the yonder! the dock is out!"
Zerek panicked badly, and ran out of energy before making it to shore. He was luckily washed up ashore, his passed out body waiting for recovery...

- A weird and creepy cave they have to venture through has him sick to his stomach.
- They reach up to a sanctuary of sorts, where a monk resides.
- In one last attempt to speak with Alice, he enlightens of his motive of staying with the Monk. Any relation with her was broken then.
- Zerek watches as the former Aurians keep on with their trail to this false hope, or so Zerek thought. This ends his first story.
A Changed Life
"You never speak with me, what are you? Am I not worthy of your words?"
- - -
Zerek and Monk (Let's refer to him as just "Monk", shall we?) were both sitting down with a meal in both of their hands. It had been a day since the group had left him here to continue down the trail of beacons they had already had an adventure on for months. He couldn't say much but tell Alice off and come back into the big residence of Monk. The others packed their things while Zerek stayed and made a bed for himself. Now with more space from people, he stays in the company of the only other one around. Monk. Monk never spoke. In fact, the only words to ever come out of his mouth were in a chant form to Isohel. This often times made any communication hard between the two, as Zerek enjoyed verbal talking.
- - -
Monk looked on over to the young man, shaking his head firmly. No, his oath was the one preventing real conversation. And oh how Zerek didn't like it.
"Then what? What? Is the one you are praying to really that important to you?" He egged on the old man, throwing his hands up in a crazy, frustrated gesture. It takes Monk quite the time to be able to return any response to it, taking another bite and looking off to the side. Monk stood on up and looked back at Zerek with another firm head movement. Though it was a nod. He walked off after that, not wanting to deal with such an upright child. Zerek was left there to eat on his own, to think about what just happened...

The first few weeks in, they two didn't really seem to go with one another with anything they did. Monk would stay up in his large place, chanting and fixing meals. He'd go out periodically throughout the week and check his plants and mend them. All while Zerek would constantly leave early in the day to fish and come back to cook it off to the side of the place by himself, carefully eating his catch. Zerek also used time alone to train himself better in his race's ways of element manipulation. The two didn't really do much commuting even when they were around each other. The talks were absolutely one-sided, and the responses Zerek did get from him either agitated him further or confused the hell out of him.
A month or two in, and Zerek had started growing silent alongside Monk. Doing less talking, he done more observing of his surroundings. When the old man would go out and patiently mend to his plants in the garden of his, he'd follow a lead and help, doing the job faster and with more promise of food for the two of them. He went through the slow process of watching the man and learning from what he followed along with. Within several months, he had this indirect teaching and soon started his own, smaller garden just outside the place, filled with other plants Monk didn't seem to want in his own.
His sudden quietness makes him wonder. Think back on his life. It's only now that he realizes that there is more to a life than having all you wanted with wealth you cannot even count. It wasn't right of him to feel proud of himself for doing nothing. High and mighty wasn't going to let him live a good life. His mistakes to the people he has lost as potential friends and lovers, it all made sense to him what was wrong with the way he was treating people. It... made him fall into a state of depression. What had he done to himself?

"Rubbish, oh... It's all bitter banter, most of which they didn't deserve. Why is it that I had been such a fool? Such a child in my coy game of 'who was the best'? It's led to nothing but broken relations and tension between parties. I never had wanted to come here. I've been through the Nether realm and back it feels like." He went on, sitting by the hot spring area just outside. He looked off to the side at an old dagger he used to replace his old one. It was still lined with the blood of a fish he had gutted just minutes ago. Thoughts ran through his head like blood through veins. He was contemplating just taking his life. It had no meaning to the world it seemed, why keep it?
He leans on over to reach for the dagger, examining its meager sharp edge as he pulled it closer. It shined a bit in the son, even for being such a worn blade. He let loose a laugh. Sad in its whole meaning. He tilted the blade towards himself and took a moment to think it out. The hesitation gave enough time for things to unfold. He feels something grab hold of his arm before he can make a move to end himself. The presence of someone stopping him wasn't just symbolic, it was a reality. Monk had just stopped him from doing this, kneeling down to pry the dagger away from him. For what seemed like age, the two sat there in a silent standoff, content with the outcome of what had just happened between the two of them.

Years have passed. It was uneventful. The same routine every day, just about. Zerek had found a way to fill this hole inside of the story of his life. Even back when he was a stubborn and childish man, Zerek had always found it somewhere in his cold heart to help others out there. In some way or form, he done it. Even if he had to be forced or it was something he despised. In the end, it was something he was willing to do if it meant helping another. In the meantime, Monk had given the man a new set of clothes. Much more practical in its usefulness than the tunic and silk pants he had on prior to it. Zerek had cut his hair shorter and lost any interest in keeping it in mend condition as he had previously.
It came to him one night whilst he sat down and read by torchlight. A book that had no name. One that this old man must have gotten from someone or made it himself even. Though the latter is much less likely. The contents of the book didn't matter so much really. it was what was happening in the corner of his vision. A light was beckoning him. The book was boring him anyway, so he took the time to look outside and see it. It was one of the many beacons from a trail he had once traveled on years ago with a caravan of people he had once lived with.
It was clear to him now. He must go and see what had happened to the pilgrims, and venture where they had. To see if there truly was some sort of civilization waiting for him after it all. Whether it was a death sentence or not, he planned on setting out just the next day. A sudden turn of event in a place so calm and slow-paced.
- - -
Zerek had already packed up seeds, water and dried foods in the pouches around his back. All the things he really needed for the journey ahead of him and, hopefully, the town that awaited him. He assumed that if there was a town made by them at the end of this trip, the years would have given them time to build it. He had told Monk whilst he was off chanting to his prophet that he was meaning to leave the place. He didn't expect any answer from him, and was already out the building and getting ready to make his way on down.
Oh! He had forgotten something important. The worn dagger he had used countless times before. He was just about to turn around when a small hand crept up to his shoulder. As a gesture to turn around, which he was already going for. It was surprising to see the Monk step away from chanting for once and actually see him off. He spoke not here still, but instead held something in his free hand. He lifted it up closer to Zerek for him to take. With a gentle pull and exchange of the item, he finally sees what it is.
It is the dull blade Zerek had used countless times. Monk must have seen it lying around after Zerek mentioned he was leaving and tried to quickly return it to him. It was an obvious kindness towards Zerek, as the man nodded after Zerek took a long look at the blade. Zerek couldn't help himself to a hug when the monk was half way into turning around to return to his solitude. The two had grown somewhat close to one another, yet the two couldn't truly relate to things or communicate effectively. A hug was all that could prove as a good farewell for the two of them. The hug lasted several seconds, and it was Zerek who eventually let go.
The monk sent another nod at him, and turned around this time successfully. Zerek had taken another look his blade he nearly forgot, and quickly makes a place for it in his belt. With everything set, he went out to follow the beacons himself. Just like his fellow pilgrims before him.

The venture was a challenge for Zerek. Even his new-found abilities to survive in more a lone wolf style leaves him at a loss sometimes. He quickly runs out of the dried foods and stops to camp out constantly with the need of having to cook his own food out in the wild. He's run into a many of dusk creatures, and gained some battle marks from so. It's more than once he found himself bruised up and injured a bit from the assaults he'd take on. It wasn't too much though, it would have been much worse had he been in a group.
Much of the terrain ahead of him was desert. Desert desert desert. One of Lucin's greatest enemies, right behind volcanoes and underground lava ruptures. Water became scarce for him, even being able to pull what very little of it was in the air. He was left out in the open to attack many times when night came. Having to know how much to eat and drink every so often really helped out through it all.
Months and months pass by, with no signs of the beacons stopping at a point. It comes to the point to where Zerek couldn't find the strength to keep on going. He started running on fumes and slowing down. Though thoughts of giving up this goal of catching up with the others seemed like a far off dream, he kept pushing forward. Onward. And he got rewarded for so. Another beacon down, he started seeing some... town. A nice size, mind you. He had no clue if the beacons actually stopped here, and continued after it. But he mustered up the strength to try to investigate the place ahead of him, not sure what his fate would be if this were not his destination.

Skills
Combat:
-(Novice) Short blade combat. (Dagger, knife, Short swords, etc.)
Having been taught at a young age how to wield a dagger to make a stand on his own, this is probably his second most reliable skill in combat.
Racial:
-(Advanced) Air Manipulation
His most prevalent and worked on skill. Having not only a preference but a natural talent in air manipulation. It puts the other manipulative powers his race are able to use to shame. He is often times seen doing some sort of exercise with his manipulation.
His time with the monk only improved this skill into near perfection as the calming of the area around him and concentrated training both intermixed for a perfect place to Zerek.
-(Easy Use) Aether Manipulation
Though in all respects nowhere near the skill of his more dominant, he's more reliant on it than his last one. Though he's only used it on a few occasions to heal another, he doesn't dare try using it in anything in this area that would cause overexertion.
-(Easy Use) Water Manipulation
It's fairly rare you'd see him use any form of water manipulation. It's the one thing he didn't care for, really. It also didn't seem the easiest for him to do.
Knowledge:
-(Above-Average) Language
Being born to a rich household with plenty of books around makes one excel as someone knowledgeable of their language. He read by himself a lot, but doesn't make a hobby of it. At least, he hasn't for some time.
-(Novice) Mathematics
One who has had a certain amount of school teaching from being home school, he's been taught in mathematics along with his usual studies and training.
-(Novice) Political Output
Though he has long abandoned this act, he still hold knowledge of it and can still be put to use in such a field.
-(Novice) Outdoor Survival
Zerek had to learn this on a whim really. Surviving the terrible conditions of the deserts caused him to try new things. He's found patterns in the wilderness he's traveled and tries applying it whenever he can.
Trade:
-(Average) Fishing
Out of the need to survive, Zerek resorted to learning how to fish for himself. Over the years, he's slowly learned better and faster ways of getting the many varieties of fish on his hook.
-(Novice) Farming/gardening
Where fishing was more of a thing Zerek went on to learn by himself, farming and the such had been learnt by watching Monk do it himself. He wasn't taught it by him personally, he simply watched and learnt through him.
