I found this place through the Roleplay Subreddit a few days ago someone posted some information about this place and I figured I'd check it out and give it a try.
About You:
I am 22 years old, live at home but am looking for a job and a means to sustain myself. I enjoy video games, movies, books.. basically any form of media. I love science and music, too. I've roleplayed before on a few sites, one Kingdom Hearts related, two MLP and this app is actually an adaptation of the OC I used on one of the MLP sites.
Fletcher Bright
Age:
22
Gender:
Male
Appearance:
Fletcher is a tall man, tan skin, hair that is dark and short that ends just above his deep blue eyes. He is 6'1'' and has the muscles of someone who has never had a days rest in his life.
Personality:
Fletcher is a polite person, always looking to help others out with their problems and even if he can't help, he will be a shoulder to cry on. he is a hard worker, devoted to farming as his dad had taught him to farm ever since he was able to do any work at the age of 6. His politeness also comes from his father, who had taught him that kindness gets you everywhere. But, when Fletcher is pushed far enough, he can be scary. He gets quiet and starts to look threatening. You'll know something is wrong when he becomes very quiet. There really isn't much else about Fletcher I can say.
Backstory:
Fletcher Bright was born on the farm he was raised on, his family very happy for the most part during the Civil War. His whole family was used to supply food to the Xitian masters. During this period, Fletcher's family had been abused to the point where only his parents and himself were the only ones remaining to provide food to the Xitians. He has a strong dislike for them at this point, a feeling that won't easily go away. The Civil war lasted for 18 years during which Time Fletcher grew up with his father, his mother dieing by the time he was three years old. His father, afraid to lose his life and his sons life, taught him how to farm so he could help produce food to supply to Xitians but taught him on weekends and after school.
During his younger years of six to eight, Fletcher didn't have school and worked with the chickens on the farm, learning to be gentle with them as the eggs would break otherwise. He didn't have many friends around this time as no children would ever visit the farm. He only knew of work and his father.
From the ages of nine to twelve, Fletcher was able to go out to school where he made friends now, his father now teaching him manners as he was old enough to start to learn to barter for goods that would help the farm. Fletcher would have a small group of friends that he was devoted to, spending a lot of time with them after school instead of being on the farm with his father but when he got home he'd go straight to work, helping out and now learning how to cook as his father showed signs of illness and he'd have to take care of him. During this time, the fight to push back against the Xitians happened, making things even more difficult as the farm was used to feed both sides of the war. It wasn't his choice but it was what he had to do.
From the ages of thirteen to eighteen, Fletcher had left his friends behind as his father was now bedridden and he had to take care of the farm. He wished he could see them but he would remember what his father taught him. For five years he would barter, farm, and cook. It was all that was important to him. Before he turned 17 the Xitians had been pushed away from the land, the slaves freed and.. well there was a lot of drinking in the town for the next few days. During those days, a few straggling Xitians passing through were met with hostility, objects thrown at their bodies as they left, some beaten in the streets and some just plain executed. It wasn't a pleasant sight. When he turned eighteen his father had gotten out of bed and made Fletcher a cake. It was a special day after all as that was the day his father died. As Fletcher grieved, the farm would slowly start to die. He'd lost motivation to do any of the work he had known, sinking into a rut for two years. His farm dead and no longer making food, the now grieving Fletcher would be kicked from the village. What was the point of having a farmer that didn't make food?
Traveling by foot for a few years, he'd wander around the mainland looking for a place to stay or any job to do, hoping to find a place for himself but finding none he started to make his way to the Forbidden lands to start his life again. As he made his way to the docks where the boat he would be taking was, the portal would open again. Fletcher would think that this was a bad thing. That they'd come back for revenge. He didn't know but after a few days there had been talk that Dragons were coming and that the Xitians of all people had claimed it. Fletcher would think it was garbage talk as he boarded the boat to the Forbidden Lands. The boat ride there was filled with interesting people. He didn't bother making friends with them since he most likely wasn't going to see them again but he would be friendly either way. He would also make himself useful however he could on the ship whether it was helping with the livestock, cooking, or cleaning up. He didn't want to be a passenger. When they arrived on the island, he'd step off the boat with his things in his sling and take a look around.
Capabilities:
Fletcher is advanced at Agriculture and is Competent as a cook, he is a Novice at Combat.
Items:
Fletcher will be carrying the clothes on his back, his fathers hoe, 10 pieces of meat and 10 pieces of bread. He'd have a stone sword to keep in case of attack and to gather resources from his animals if need be.
Additional Comments:
Fletcher will not talk about his father or mother at all. He also has a sensitive spot for dogs and has always wanted one.
