HAI! we're almost there! Only two things stick out as issues now.

Archery/Hunting – Moderate
Architecture/Landscaping – Apprentice
Masonry/Carving – Moderate
Mining - Novice
Woodcutting/Carpentry – Apprentice
Survival Skills – Expert

So your character is now 28 years old, and that's a lot of time to learn things but most of his life wasn't spent really able to cultivate a lot of study, that being said, B'tone shouldn't have so many nor so advanced skills and certainly not an expert skill without some sort of proper tutelage. Which when it comes to survival he never had. So the list needs to be shortened and the skills taken down to what would be more appropriate.

He thought long and hard as he lie on the sand, staring up at the cloudless, blue sky. “Wait, the stories!” he remembered. The hero always survived by digging into the ground to get water. But alas, he had no shovel. His walking staff would have to do for now. Each half-hour that went by fried B’tone further, and when he figured it was all fiction, he had miraculously hit water enough that could sustain him for a little less than week. But with this discovery, he could survive for months until he left the desert.

This is just a little unrealistic, he'd probably sweat out more water then he'd find digging this way. Talking with staff, it sounds that it would be easier to say he found a beacon on the far-side of the desert (perhaps while skirting around the desert to avoid going into it.) and followed thus to the setting. I'm sorry for any confusion all of this has caused.
