I have to first ask that you relate the character's backstory more to our lore, found here. Being 22, he'd have been around to witness the waning years of the Civil War and the Dusk Portal reopening. Also, the backstory needs to end with their arrival in the Forbidden Lands, which is a few months by boat. (I'd also consider this when it comes to your food items)

I'll need you to give a clear 'level' to cooking to assess the character's balance. Right now, it looks like you have two advanced and two novice skills. One advanced would be fair, given that it was the focus of much of his life. Additionally, unless he can really go at it when it comes to physical excursion, athletics needn't be considered a skill.
