Caius Gordon
#1
[Image: CsVheL2.png]

It was being weird and did that. Oops. Anyway - Horrible header done by me. I tried.

Basic information

Name: Caius Gordon.
Age: 20.
Sex: Male.
Race: Mesalian.

Appearance.

Tall, just below 6'1, Caius sports a few scars on his face. He has a mesomorph body shape that he has built up over the years. His black hair is messy and slightly long, reaching his jaw. His hair has the occasional rare grey streaks, showcasing early stress. His eyes are of a baby blue, his gaze calculative and intuitive. His facial features give him a boyish look. Overall he has good genes. His skin is tanned, showing his years in the sun.

Upon his body are simple clothes - a basic white shirt, brown pants and brown boots.

Personality, skills and known issues.

Personality:

To the stranger, Caius could appear a bit dull upon a first meet if he doesn't take an immediate or quick liking to the person. As he gets to know someone better, he lets his guard down - or raises it if he gets bad vibes from the person. When he is comfortable with someone, he is actually kind and energetic but gentle. He can often be seen walking around aimlessly or at the bar, either mingling or drinking. Preferably drinking. He holds women in high regards (especially motherly women) for reasons he wouldn't admit to almost anyone, but that doesn't mean he won't attack one if he was attacked first.

Skills and capabilities:

Athlete - Competent.

Since he could, Caius was always running around. He could never be seen sitting still and this caused some issues with his education. He always excelled in it and would have just learned more while moving around.

Writing/reading - Educated.

Despite not being able to stay still and focus properly, Caius was always a literate child and still is. He loves to read when he is rarely sitting down, considering it keeps him busy.

Mathematics - Decent.

Mathematics was in no way Caius's strong suit but he managed to get by when he was being educated by his parents. More so, he despised the whole process of Mathematics.

Swimming - Skilled.

Having always preferred to swim than become a sweaty mess, Caius spent a lot of time in the rivers near his original village, even more so when he moved to live with his uncle. He loves to swim whenever he can.

Dancing - Skilled.

This man sure can get his groove on when he wants to, although he prefers to dance in private.

Cooking - Basic.

His mother had started to teach him to cook anyways but it never really applied to him much in terms of making outstanding meals. He likes food, yes. Creating it? Nope.

Combat - Competent.

Caius has been training since he was 10, although at that time he was more so just picking it up every day and giving the dummy a few swings before going back to running around. He had started training more diligently at the age of 14. He is always eager to learn more about combat.

Hunting - Basic.

Upon his years, Caius had picked up the art of killing animals for food. It was just a way to get some anger out and at the same time get a bit of profit. He's decent enough to maybe do orders for someone if they were to reach out to him about it. Although it isn't like he prances around, proclaiming to the gods that he knows how to hunt. Although he does generally go for the smaller animals.

Known issues:

Caius has an annoying habit of not being able to sit still, easily becomes distracted and is very squirmy. (In modern terms, he has ADHD but was never given a name for it.) In his years, he has managed to find ways to calm himself naturally - exercise and constant movement, which would have helped him with combat and hunting greatly. His problem with attention and being able to stay still is still very much evident when he isn't fighting or doing some sort of activity. He needs to constantly be busy or else his ADHD will kick up.

Backstory and timeline. (Timeline to be done.)

Backstory:

It was only after 29 years AV when the main focus on this particular character was born. Their mother and father had decided to finally have a child, one that would hopefully be safe for they were naive people. Lana, the child's mother, had given birth to a healthy baby boy, who had jet black hair and silky, creamy skin. The couple, Lana, and Gerald, the father, had always loved exotic names and so they named him Caius [Cah-you-ss]. They lived in peace for a couple of years, raising Caius to be a happy toddler. They even thought of bringing another little one into the world to keep Caius company but decided against it, wanting to give Caius all their attention. Luckily the Civil War hadn't affected the household too badly - they only lost a couple of third-removed cousins and such from other villages. By the time the Civil war ended, Caius was 4 years old. He was happy and content with life - even as a toddler. But then came the news of the Dusk Gate opening...

His parents freaked out and moved further inland, wanting to protect their child. They continued raising him to be a polite, respectful child as he progressed in his years. He had made a few friends in his village, which would have helped his social skills a lot as a child considering it was just mainly him and his parents. Other than this, not much had happened in his childhood. Gerald had given Caius a wooden sword and a testing dummy when he was 10, in which he used almost every day. Then, just before he turned 14, he had received the news that he was going to be blessed with a sibling.

At age 14 Caius is now an awkward boy going through puberty. Poor lad. He was rather lanky - bones showing, hair looking rather oily and his face riddled with acne. Their family was not the wealthiest but they were comfortable - the only reason the boy was skinny was that he was very active and had a high metabolism. It's around 43 AV and poor Caius was 14 at the time. He was out running about one day in a meadow not close to the village, like any other day - when he had spotted some of his good friends running towards him, tears falling to the ground as they flung themselves onto him.

He patted their back awkwardly, like the bloody awkward teenager he was back then. He asked what was wrong and the news that spilled out of their mouths made the already pale boy pale even further. He ran without them, arms pumping vigorously as he was desperate to see if it was true. He wouldn't believe it if he didn't witness it first hand. Sooner or later, he reached his home - or what was left of it. It was aflame, the ferocious flames licking and engulfing everything in its wake. It spared no mercy as it joined the rest of the flames that slowly ate his village as if it were those unsatisfying fancy meals, demanding more like a savage beast.

He fell to his knees, letting out a strangled sob as his entire village slowly burned away. A faint flapping sound could be heard and Caius lifted his head to look at the retreating form of the dragon that had been the cause of his grief. Some elders had to drag him out of the area before he too became one of those disgustingly unfilling fancy snacks. The survivors had gathered around outside the burning village - not close to it at all. He looked around desperately to find the two that mattered most to him - but they weren't apart of the surviving crew. He lost his mother, father and unborn sibling on that day.

The villagers had a hard time trying to decide on what they would do once everything settled - they built a makeshift camp which would last them until they had a final plan. Everyone in town knew each other so it was no hard time sending letters to the children's relatives. Caius didn't have many close relatives, only an estranged grandmother on his mother's side and an uncle and grandparents on his father's side. They sent the uncle a letter, considering he was closer to the family. In a matter of 5 days, a letter had been sent back to them. It had stated that his uncle was ready to receive and care for Caius. Caius had to travel for a week to reach his uncle who had lived near the ocean.

Skip ahead to two years and we have a vengeful Caius - who was now under the watch of his uncle. It had taken awhile to get used to his uncle's ways, but he did it. He trained day and night to become stronger, faster and in overall - a man. He had practiced in every area that fell under 'Athletic', his favourite being swimming and dancing. He was no longer a little boy cocooned in the warmth of his parents' hold, no. He was now a man in almost every way. He grew taller and bulkier, put on some weight and was rather mature. Some say he grew too soon, but Caius always waved them off. What they didn't know was that while his manners and etiquette increased, the burning hate for the monsters that killed his family grew. He would never forgive them for they had taken away the only steady thing in his life.

Four more years later and Caius's uncle finally feels that the man, who was now aged 20, was ready for the world, purely on his own. Caius had a sentimental parting with his uncle for he had looked at him as a second father figure. He boarded a ship and led off to the Forbidden Lands where the hopeful rest of his life would play out. With a raised head, he entered the town of Nightveil - silently heading the rumours of the town's curse. He grinned to himself and looked down at himself, promising to become a man of pride. His anger and hate had seemingly stemmed down - but for how long? Loss can make a man go mad, after all.

Please refrain from eating the watermelon. Thank you.
