Rokku, the slowness is really just a problem with Generation IV. The surfing speed is horrid, and it really is a very slow game. However, one you get past the slowness, which dissipates after the first few gyms, they're very good. If you'd like a DS based game that moves faster. Try out B/W and their sequels.
