Another vote for Spit. But I'm wondering if you could steal stuff that have been placed already? Like a chair, perhaps, or some other form of furniture.

You may only steal 3 items, not stacks, at a time. Stealing so called "personal items", like journals, dresses or anything else not represented with an item IG, falls under what's realistic or not, AKA, Metagaming Rules.

To:
3. Only what your character can realistically carry.
Keep in mind what your character could really carry with any measure of stealth. Inform the player what and how many of any item you would like to take when asking permission.
