So I'm kinda fishing around for inspiration and theme songs. Just sorta... throw whatever you've got at me that you think is worth listening to.
Inb4 Rick Astley.

Well everyone interpret things differently but here's a few, as varied as I could manage:

When I was eleven, I wrote the worst Mary Sues to that first song.
I still don't know how I've not died from shame.
Probably because I'm awesome now. And very egotistical.

Thanks, Zark. I'm liking the second song and the Nightwish songs.

The Kamelot ones annoy me vaguely, and I'm assuming it's because they're addressing me directly with these questions like 'How could I be condemned for the things that I've done/If my intentions were good?' and I'm just sitting here like 'what, have you never seen a politician before?' Though it's not all bad... I'm just a smart-arse.

I think the Nightwish songs kinda win me over by not asking me to engage so directly with the song. I'm just there to listen.
The last song startled my cat. XD
May have had it on a little loud.

I want more songs now. Please post some, people. I have no preferences, just stuff that you like.

*cracks knuckles* I know this shit. Within Temptation write blatantly obvious stories in their earlier albums with classical Mary-Sue themes. Stories of Ice queens, the sacrificing parent for the child, the hero that dies and who's life essence saves the rest... Etc.

Kamelot outright questions humanity and everything with it except in their very latest album, simply cause those albums not about Faust were written when one songwriter was depressed.

NIGHTWISH... got Tuomas Holopainen, the King of vague poetry.

You're gonna get more from me (cause I love this and music) unless anyone else speaks up so I'll try to toss in more genres...

Meadows of Heaven by Nightwish
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxsjv6LtRz0
This is a very musical song of theirs, all very warm and happystuffs with bit melancholy to it.

The Poet and the Pendulum (Orchestral) by Nightwish
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNtg2dYHwcY
This is also a very musical song but the exact damn opposite, this is a very dark song. I picked the orchestral version simply cause it's not as apparent without lyrics and still keeps the new age-ish parts as well as those with more tension intact, making it more of a classical piece or a movie theme. Original version just in case http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UI8jC6FoV8k

Money Made by AC/DC
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=humItWsdXvQ
YES this IS a change of genre. This is BLUES ROCK/CLASSIC ROCK. And it rocks... It's so damn smooth... x3

A Brand New Day by Lisa Miskovsky
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MwRtC_ELt4
An old pop song I used to like. Swedish artist.

Angeline by Groove Coverage
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7Gu6qgJKvc
Cover your ears if you can't stand cheesy dance pop.

Deathaura (Orchestral to not scare the shit out of your cat) by Sonata Arctica
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ehq7jwvC5E4
Sonata Arctica are generally bit more complicated metal and lyrics. I've picked this one as it's very very musical.

Zark mentioned other geners, so I decided to offer some music I like in the more popular specturm in modern music. And yes, this means pop and rap. inb4 "OMG TEH NEW MUZICZ SUXZ LOL"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvDQy53eldY - Otherside, Macklemore. Song about drug abuse, the consequences, and recovery.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-fA-gBCkj0 - Lock out of heaven - Bruno Mars. Very silly song about Bruno telling this girl him denying him sex is like being locked out of heaven. Silly but I love the sound.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=359na4NeaVA - Berzerk- Eminem. Kinda generic with themes of living while your young (YOLO) but the most dangerous sounding and on point Eminem has been in a while.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FRXLzw37-8 -Get Lucky, Draft Punk. This is where Robin Thicke got his popularity due to going on the same train of this throwback to the 70's, and it's much better than Blurred Lines.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAg3uMlNyHA - Wings, Macklemore. Think a serious version of Thrift Shop with this one.

I totally understand if you hate all of these due not being in your taste. Thought I'd offer some variety from orchestral and rock though.
