This has officially begun, it is being played over Skype, anyone now wishing to join will have to contact me about playing a non-clone character.
Here is last night's RP Log:
--IC LINE, RP STARTING BELOW--
-Wait for the post for initial setting before beginning-
[4/11/2013 6:06:01 PM] 3llusive: -All Players-
Darkness... A black abyss. A dreamless sleep. It seems to be all that fills your mind.. But somehow, you slowly begin to become aware of yourself. For seemingly the first time, that you even exist. Opening your eyes with this new sensation of living for the first time, you open your eyes to feel the sting of fluid. Water. You realize you're under water, and also at the same time that you can somehow still breath, or, that you don't need to breathe?
You suddenly hear an automated female voice, loud in your fresh ears as you feel the water recending downwards, draining somehow.
"H-h-hello [[Insert Character name here]]. Welcome to life, brought to you by Amity Techn-n-n.." The voice cuts for a moment with a fit of popping static noise. "P-please wait, an attendant will be with you shortly." The automated voice says, and before you know a glass door in front of you gives way, and you fall out onto the cold tiled floor outside, remaining water splashing out on the floor around you. The voice chimes in again, even more staticy than last time. "M-main power source failure, reverting to emergency power. Opening pods."
And with that, the room around you suddenly becomes pitch black, the lights going out. A moment later, red emergency lights come on, dimly illuminating some of the dark, cold room you are in. You seem to be alone...
-Hutchy-
[4/11/2013 6:08:03 PM] 3llusive: The room you are in seems to have several pods like yours that have failed to open, and look smashed an unfunctional. Lockers line the wall ahead of you, and a red emergency light is over a heavy metal blast door to your left in the corner of the room.
-Spit-
The room you are in is very similar, although a bit nicer. There are benches in the middle of the room, and what looks like an unattended medical station on the far end of the room. The door out of the room you are in is to your right, also in the corner.
[4/11/2013 6:09:25 PM] 3llusive: Also, as if it needs saying, both of you are naked. Very naked and cold.
[4/11/2013 6:11:59 PM | Edited 6:12:26 PM] Shang: Walt opens his eyes, from his worm's eye view. He stands up, sincerely wondering what the fuck is even occuring right now. He looks around the room, spotting the medical station, and goes over to it, maybe there'll be some towels or blankets. Maybe some answers.
[4/11/2013 6:17:04 PM] Hazey 'Twonkles' Hutchenstein: Flat on his belly, cold and wet, Auden, if that was in fact his name, groaned and forced himself up onto his elbows, scanning the room. It was dark and, to his eyes, almost like pitch bar the red light over the door. It stung to look at. Pods surrounded him, like the one he fell from.
With another groan and creak and pop of new joints, Auden pushed himself up, ignoring the fact he was in his birthday suit, no one else was around. As far as he knew. He advanced on the lockers, hoping for something to cover up his anatomy and maybe a source of light or way of knowing whatâs happening.
[4/11/2013 6:24:41 PM | Edited 6:38:47 PM] 3llusive: -Spit-
Walking through the abysmal darkness you make your way to the medical station. You see that there's a gurney with a pale blue disposable sheet over it and a tray with a small white box with a red cross on the lid, which seems unopened.
-Hutchy-
Looking around the lockers, you find one that has a faded nametag directly across from your pod, labeled "A. Templar".
Opening it, you find some clothes very neatly folded on one of the locker shelves, a white T shirt with an 'Amity Technologies' logo on the left breast, along with "SECURITY" across the back of it in boldfaced letters. Along with the shirt, you find clean boxers and socks, and black slacks and boots.
And a ID card, with your picture on it, and name and credentials, citing you as 'Security Personnel'. There appears to be a
black strip on the back of the card.
[4/11/2013 6:27:44 PM] Shang: He takes the sheet, wearing it around himself. It'll have to do. He also takes the box, not bothering to open it, and heads over to the lockers, now that the basics are covered. Thinly covered.
3llusive
[4/11/2013 8:08:36 PM] 3llusive: -River-
You find yourself in a more decrepit room. The darkness is broken by the occassional sparking from exposed wire near one of the pods in your room. Some of the tiles from the floor have been chipped or cracked, presumably from some kind of abuse. Off to the left corner of the room is the exit from the room, with the red emergency light still slowly pulsing.
-Tig-
Your room is a bit small, only about five pods lined up on the back wall, and once again five ajoining lockers. From the smaller dimensions of the room it's also a bit better lit by the emergency light, and along with the lockers you can see on the wall is a faded "Amity Technologies" logo, along with the black subtext "Cloning Bay 7-E"
[4/11/2013 8:24:17 PM | Edited 8:25:04 PM] The Crow: R: River stays in her pod, looking around the room. She felt cold and afraid, everything was new and there was so much darkness. She wrapped her arms around herself and shivered violently, then took a clumsy step forward, falling to the floor on weak and unfamiliar legs. The motion made her dizzy after her entire short life being spent still, and she wretched at the floor for a moment. Nothing came up, there was nothing in her stomach. From the floor she looked up at the blinks of red against the wall. Red, red.. She thought, then slowly whispered "Alert..", the only word that came to her mind to identify the light.
[4/11/2013 8:27:04 PM] 3llusive: -Spit-
You find the row of lockers and find that the one directly across from your pod is labeled "W. Crayne". Opening it you find a rather plain white T shirt, save for an "Amity Technologies" logo on the left breast, and what looks like rather generic sturdy dark green denim pants, accompanied by hiking boots, socks, and boxers.
-River-
You notice that there are a row of lockers across from the pods, occassionally made visible by the sparking wire in this cold, strange man-made environment.
[4/11/2013 8:33:02 PM | Edited 8:33:29 PM] Shang: Walt touches the logo on the breast, before shedding the gurney cover, and placing down the medical box. He turns the shirt around a few times, looking for anything besides the Amity logo. He sighs just sligthly, finding nothing, and puts on the shirt. After giving the other clothes the same examination, he ends up putting them all on. Now properly dressed, he takes the medical box over to the benches in the middle of the room, where opens it in his lap.
[4/11/2013 8:42:37 PM] River: She blinks, looking at the lights. She reaches towards the light, then watches her arm. It perplexes her, but it feels normal. She bends her fingers, and stretches her arms. Keeping stretching until she gets a feel for moving the arms, then slowly climbing to her feet. She wobbles for a moment, then sets a hand on the wall for support. Slowly taking steps towards the lockers.
[4/11/2013 8:55:13 PM] 3llusive: -Spit-
You open the medical box to find that it's a bit too dark to make out everything that's inside it. You do see at least a roll of self adhesive bandages, and something shiny that, upon closer inspection seems to be a needle of some sort and two small plastic vials, that are short, squat and easily set on a flat surface or kept in a pocket. Apart from that you can feel a number of small, paper like packages of a few various sizes in the kit.
-River-
Directly across from her pod, she finds a locker labeled "R. Kelly". Opening it, she finds a rather plain white T shirt with the "Amity Technologies" logo on the left breast, along with some sort of non-descript, dark grey trousers. They seem to be fatigues of some sort.
Additionally she would find underwear, socks, a pair of hiking boots, and what appear to be dog tags. The stamped metal reads
"KELLY
RIVER O.
145-45-9012
O NEG
CHRISTIAN"
[4/11/2013 9:05:53 PM] River: She looks over the clothes, they had a purpose. She knows they have a purpose. It didn't seem to make sense though. She ran her hands across her body, wondering if the clothes were to protect her skin. She pulled on all the clothes, looking over the dog tags. The inscription had meaning. It felt important. But so much of it didn't make sense. She slipped them around her neck, she felt it important. Then she slowly sat down, looking over the boots. They were heavy, and when she put them on they didn't feel comfortable. So she took them back off and stuffed the socks into them, carrying them in case she needed them, and looking around the room some more. The red light was still blinking. It made her nervous, the word she whispered came back to memory.. Alert. She slowly made her way to the exit, still not used to using her feet.
[4/11/2013 9:06:15 PM] Shang: After giving the contents, a once over, he lays his back on the bench and exhales. He then sits back up, this time with a sense of purpose, a purpose to find out whats happening to him. He looks over to his pod, momentarily, wondering if he could step back inn it and get out of this. To hell with that, though. Carrying the box in his hand, he goes over to the blast door, and taps it with his foot, experimentally.
[4/11/2013 9:12:41 PM] 3llusive: -River-
you seem to be confronted by a looming, sleek steel door. Except this one didn't really seem to have a door handle or pushbar.. And seemed to be quite thick. A wide lever however is against the door, striped in black and yellow, with a warning label above it that reads "IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, PULL DOWN TO UNSEAL DOOR, THEN LIFT TO OPEN."
-Spit-
Ditto. Same idea
[4/11/2013 9:17:02 PM] Shang: He reads the message over a few times before gently resting his hand on the lever. He hesitates nervously, before following the instructions on the door.
[4/11/2013 9:17:09 PM] River: She stares at it for a moment, running her hands across the door. Cold. Hard. Metal.. She pushed on it. It put a strain on her arm, which hurt some. She stopped, rubbing her arms and looking around. She studied the lever for a moment. Emergency.. Bad. Was there bad? It was dark. But it didn't seem bad. She was afraid, but was it bad? Then the blinking light caught her eyes again.. Alert.. Alert is bad. She went to follow the instructions on the lever.
[4/11/2013 9:26:48 PM] 3llusive: -Both-
The door makes a soft hiss as the hermetic seal is released for the first time in nearly a century as the lever is pulled down. The door is heavy, but as it's pulled up it seems to glide with the momentum, as if gravity were not a problem for it. In actuality, a counter weight did most of the work, to save the clones from struggling to lift a 2 ton blast door that served to protect them from possible intruders to the bunker.
-Spit-
With the door now pulled out of the way, you find yourself in a hallway, similarly illuminated by red emergency lights on the cieling. However, there is one on the wall next to the entrance to the room you just exited. Below this light, there is the Amity Technology logo, with a light blue arrow pointing towards the entrance to the room you just exited, reading "Cloning Bay 1-A".
Beneath it, there is an orange arrow leading off along the wall to your right with a label reading "Bunker Hub"
-River-
Similarly, you are also in a hallway almost identacle, save for the directions of the arrows are reversed, the Bunker hub arrow pointing to the left, with your bay label reading "Cloning Bay-" the number and letter designation being ruined by what appears to be damage in the concrete wall.. Three diagonal slashes marring whatever the label used to read as.
[4/11/2013 9:33:37 PM] Shang: As Walt steps forward, the only thing that registers is "Cloning Bay" What? If you were willing to believe it, it almost made sense, almost. abut that was simply not something Walt was going to believe. This impossible scenario filled him with vigor, he was going to find out what the hell was going on here. Without another thought, he walked down the hallway.
[4/11/2013 9:34:26 PM] River: She looks around for a moment. There was more light now. She could see the hair in front of her eyes more clearly. It was long and messy, full of frizzles and curls. It got in the way. She pushed it aside, then it fell right back over her eyes. She pulled at it, wondering if she could remove it. Ouch. She stopped pulling, defeated and hurt. She pushed the hair as far to the side as she could, then continued forward in clumsy steps, still barefoot, holding the boots in one arm. She followed the orange arrows.
[2:16:33 AM] The Crow: Miles was afloat a sea of blissful emptiness.. When suddenly noise, and air.. And the whole wide world before him. New and frightening. He stayed in his pod for a while, before slowly stepping out, stretching his legs. His body felt so new.. Wrong, unnatural. He took inventory of all his features, wiggling his toes, bending his fingers, stretching out.. He took a moment just stretching, trying to get used to the bizare feel of moving, then somehow, on some instinct, stretching turned to basic excersizes. A couple push ups, a few sit ups.. Until he had dried off in the air, and he began to feel the cold. A new and horrible sensation. Then hunger.. He wondered over to the locker, looking for food. None.. Clothes. He slipped them on, eager to get something on to help against the cold. Out of a drive for neatness, and some slight instinct, he tucked in the shirt, and bloused the boots. Tucking in all the laces neatly. He looked stronger this way, neat and standing tall.. And he felt it. He tried to read the dog tags, but so many of the words and symbols didn't make sense, so he slipped them on to examine later. The blinking red light finally got through to him, and he wondered to the door, examining it for a moment before following the instructions to open it.
[9:47:04 AM] Hazey 'Twonkles' Hutchenstein: [[wall of text, incoming!]]
[9:47:08 AM] Hazey 'Twonkles' Hutchenstein: Opening what he thought was his locker, the one with âA. Templarâ as the machine called him, he observed the contents. He looked at the pile of clothes and a faint compulsion washed through his mind and he took the first articles, slipping them on with clumsy and shaky motions. Clearly, his hands were little more than butter fingers and ham.
Up came the shirt and he caught sight of the logo on the left, getting a closer look when he made a hash of buttoning it up. The words were a jumble in his head, rearranging themselves in a literal dictionary of arrangements until he opened his mouth and forced sound from his lips,
âah...miii...tee. Ahmâitâee tekno--logys..â He shook the idea away and spun it around, looking at the other text âSssSSeckooretee?â he shook his head again and slipped it on and buttoning it up, some of his coordination returning. Only some.
He stooped down again and picked up the sliver of plastic which had what could be his name and what he looked at on it. He scanned the picture and ran his free hand across his gaunt features and over the growing mohican of jet black. He took the same hand and pressed it against the card, mouthing the word âme?â Turning it over, inwardly hoping for more words, he was disappointed by the lack of anything bat a single black stip. Perplexed by it, Auden moved it closer and sniffed. Nothing, so he rubbed a finger along its length and, not feeling at all like some newborn, pressed the finger to his tongue. Again, nothing. He frowned.
He looked back at the door, moving toward the red light of the stinging light, curious. He ran a hand along the metallic door, savoring the cold sensation across his palms.
