Introductory notes: Most of you are probably wondering what the bejeweled I'm doing here. Well, I figured not all forum games had to be trivia, word games, ect. So, let's try out an RPG!
This will be ran similarly to a Dungeons and Dragons game (Sort of), in which you can create your own character, and I will be "Game Master" in guiding the storyline of what happens. This is an RP/RPG because there will be roleplay along the way, but the results of your character's actions / combat will be partially controlled by dice rolls and stats/skills. It will be set up however, that a Veteran Warrior isn't going to trip on his own sword or anything equally out-of-character happening from dice rolls. They merely add element of chance and a bit of "game-y-ness" balancing. With all that out of the way, to the storyline!

All things must come to an end. Life starts with birth, and always ends with death. The tide will always go out, but it must always return inwards. For us, the end did come.. But we might have managed the impossible: to cheat our destiny.
It started off as just another war. Perhaps World War III, but something went wrong. A mass EMP attack on the United States lead to the panicked launch of several nuclear warheads, which was followed the the rest of the world's response: More nuclear warheads. We brought things down for everyone. In the end civilizations crumbled. 99% of the world's population wiped out in one fell swoop.
Someone had been preparing for this, however. Amity Technologies, a corporation vastly involved in advancing the sciences of cloning and genetics had been developing a secret project known by code name as "Failsafe". The idea was to be able to copy a person's DNA, and store it long term in a self-sustaining bunker, and even thousands of years later, once the radiation had passed, a clone could be generated, so that if this very scenario played out, humanity would have a second chance at rebuilding.
This project was ultimately a success, but it came far too late. The Amity Failsafe bunker under their headquarters in Colorado was the only one made - they had very little time or resources to store more than a handful of genetic copies in the bunker before everything went to shit.
That's where our story truly begins. 120 years after the fall of civilization, the Amity Failsafe bunker is finally detecting livable conditions in the atmosphere above. Tolerable radiation levels, and new plant-life have kickstarted the flash-clone process. The only question is...
What world awaits you above?

Here's how this will work. When the game starts, I will outline the setting that each character is in. Then it's your turn to post with what your character does in that setting, where they go, what they do, how they react to what's happening. I will then post again to determine the results of your character's actions / anything new that happens.
I will be using this site: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.wizards.com/dnd/dice/dice.htm">http://www.wizards.com/dnd/dice/dice.htm</a><!-- m --> To roll a D100 for anything that requires a dice roll. Your character's stats and skills will affect the rolls greatly, and for anything your character attempts that requires a roll, I will do the required rolling, and I will post an OOC note at the end of my IC post that outlines all of the rolls done for that post, and their results.
Rolls will be done in a realistic manner, combat will be very lethal, and it can pose a very real threat to your character. Also, how you choose to go about the attack ICly will affect it's results. Your RP will make a real difference in the way things play out, and can change the outcome of events greatly. Your veteran swordsman character will not be overwhelmed by a weak opponent just because your character rolls a low number consecutively.
With all that out of the way, feel free to PM me your character forms and once we have enough people I will make the opening IC post. Until then, this thread is completely OOC, so feel free to post questions / ect below.

Quote:Name:(Name will be of the original person's name from who the DNA was copied from for use in the fail-safe project)
Age:(Age is determined by how old the original person was when their DNA was copied for use in the fail-safe project)
Physical Description:(What your character looks like, how tall they are, what they weight, ect.)
Background of Original Identity:(This can be simple, or elaborate, but it needs to be clear why the Amity Corporation thought that they would be helpful in the aftermath. This can be anything from being physically fit and of a helpful nature, to being a skilled carpenter, ect. So long as they have /reason/ to be cloned.)
Character statistics:(Now, this is handled by the fallout 'SPECIAL' system. You will start out with 5 points in each category with 10 points to spend. You may subtract points from your base amounts from any stat to spend them elsewhere. All stats have a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 10.)
Strength: 5 (How much physical strength your character can exert. This influences his/her ability to physically overpower other people or creatures, how much damage he/she can inflict with bare fists or melee weapons, and how much they can carry without inflicting pain or strain upon themselves)
Perception: 5 (How perceptive your character is. This influences their ability to react to sudden threats, and to perceive subtle sounds or movements.)
Endurance: 5 (How much punishment your character can endure. This will affect how well they can endure taxing events such as going without food, sleep, and how much pain they can endure. Endurance will NOT affect what can kill your character, as this is unrealistic. However they may be able to stay conscious with more blood loss than a person who is less hardy, so it may still help them survive.)
Charisma: 5 (How well your character can interact with NPC's. This affects how they are perceived by them, first impression wise. Other player characters will not be influenced by your character's charisma, as they are in full control of how their character reacts to the world and other characters.)
Intelligence: 5 (Your character's raw mental ability. This primarily affects how easily they learn new things and skills. Some skills that are more physically based are not affected by a high intelligence as much.)
Agility: 5 (Your character's speed and dexterity. This affects how fast overall they run or move, their overall coordination, and affects some skills that require higher physical dexterity.)
Luck: 5 (How lucky your character is. Every roll of the dice will have your character's luck value added to it.)
Points left to spend: 10
Character Skills:
(Now, as your character is a clone, they ultimately have little extensive knowledge of anything, as they are waking up for the first time. However, your clone will possess 'Aptitudes' for skills based upon their prior life experience. This means that they will learn these skills an an accelerated rate. Choose 3 skills to receive aptitude bonuses for.)
