Cutie marks come from older generations of MLP, and they kept it like that. Besides, it's a show for little kids, I doubt children think anything sexual of it at their age.

No one says you have to read anything other than the rules, the lore, and the occasional announcement Demo XD

As for the cutie marks... I'm going with a stern 'no'. That's where it was for the previous generations, and from a design aspect the mark wouldn't look better anywhere else on the pony.

Plus, they're ponies. I think most of society has enough common sense to not get up in arms about pony rears. If they were human, it may be different (also, if they were human, design-wise there'd be better places).

Back on topic:
While I'll agree with Screem on some levels, I really don't think everything was building up to well... -this- moment. I mean, I love Twilight and this episode made me so bloody proud, but I don't think the goal was to

. RD will be a Wonderbolt, Rarity will have a shop in Canterlot, Fluttershy will be a wonderful veterinarian... you get the point. And the show even had some episodes showing this. For example, "Wonderbolt Academy", "Sweet and Elite", and I guess "Keep Calm and Flutter On" all improve on the Mane Six

. I suspect by the end of the whole show, each of the mane six will have done just so. Maybe the CMC will even get their cutie marks. Who knows?
