In Game Name (IGN): absolutemonarch
How did you find us? (Forums, friend, previous member, etc…): a blog post listing out Minecraft role-play servers
About You: I'm Aspen and I'm 20 years old. I've been role-playing since I was in middle school, and I assume I've only gotten better over the years. I go by they/them or he/him pronouns, and my hobbies include video games, watching television shows, and taking care of my succulent.
CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Magnolia (Maggie) Peddler
Age: 22 years old
Gender: Female
Appearance: Maggie stands at about 5'4 feet tall and is rather curvy. She has long dark brown hair and light brown eyes that have a purplish tint. She has a small scar on her forehead that she hides with her hair. She is of average weight and is not very physically fit.
Personality: She has a tendency to think too highly of herself, much to the annoyance of her peers. She carefully thinks problems through before taking action, but she tends to guide with her heart more than her brain. She loves to write poetry and adores animals. She is not shy in the slightest, but she sometimes refrains from talking to people in social classes under her. She is very privileged and feels pity for those less fortunate, but not enough pity to help them out. She is selfish and emotionally immature at times, and loves the finer things in life. She wants to marry a nobleman eventually to keep up her luxurious lifestyle.
Backstory: Maggie was born to a wealthy merchant who sold his goods in his very own store. It was his proudest moment, until he met Maggie's mother and they had Maggie. Unfortunately, Maggie's mother passed away shortly after birth from self inflicted wounds due to postpartum depression. This took a toll on Maggie's father, and he nearly lost the store because of his grieving. He did his best to raise Maggie, but ended up spoiling her with whatever she wanted growing up. He also hired a tutor, which allowed Maggie to become literate. Life was lonely for Maggie, as her arrogance was her undoing. No one ever wanted to speak with her or give her the time of day, and her father was constantly busy with the store. So Maggie spent most of her time alone in the woods, writing poetry and sketching animals in her moleskin notebook. She was really young when the civil wars occurred, having been born on the tail-end of them, so she has no memories of it. Luckily her village was on the outskirts of the Middle Realm, so they had not seen many attacks and had mostly remained neutral. When the Dusk Portal reopened and the battles began again, she was honestly quite scared. But what news the Xitians had brought back was even more terrifying. She had just turned 22 when word of the dragons reappearing emerged, and she is terrified. Can they withstand more attacks? She decided to relocate to Nightveil after her father grew ill and passed away, leaving most of the money behind. She was going to start anew, hopefully safe from the dragons and all of the conflict. The boat ride had been long and difficult, and she had gotten sea sick more than once, but when she reached Nightveil she felt hope for the future.
Capabilities: Poetry (Apprentice), Mathematics (Apprentice), Socialization/Small Talk (Novice), Art/Drawing (Novice)
Items: Moleskin notebook with a few quills and a jar of ink
Additional Comments: I hope to join this server and make some fun stories with everyone! :)

Hello, Monarch. Fire's taken the other app while my internet craps out, so hopefully I'll be able to take you through whitelisting in record speed.

You've almost got all the lore relation we ask applicants to put in their backstories, but there's just the two points you need to address. As well as the Civil War, we ask applicants to address the point of the Duck Portal reopening as it's quite the significant event.
Also, you should consider that depending where Maggie's coming from, the journey to Nightveil is usually several months by boat. That naturally also means access to any bank is very unlikely.

I also need to ask about the skill's you've chosen. While it's clear you've understood the format and rules behind them, it looks like you've graded the general categories rather than individual skills. You need not do this, nor feel restricted to choosing skills from those categories. For example, instead of 'Fine Arts', your character can have 'Poetry' and 'Writing' as skills. Just a quick note before I leave this one off, on this server it's a given that most characters can read and write to an good degree, so it's not needed to list them as skills, only if they're either better or worse than a literate person do they need mentioning, really, but that's up to you.

That's all I have for you right now. Bump this thread or yell at me in Discord when you've made your edits, and we'll continue from there. Bonus points for highlighting your edits in a different colour!
