New Map Teasers
"What's the staff been working on, oh why are it taking so long and oooohhh save me from this blasted burning sun in this massive sandbox that are the Middle Map! Oooohhh save us!"
This is probably what's going through a lot of peoples' minds, it's not a secret that we've been working long and hard on what is for now known as the Main Map. Longer than we thought we'd have to, but I suppose if you're supposed to do something you might as well do it properly, eh?
So when will the grande opening be? Well the countdown has indeed started. We're at the moment looking at a preliminary grande opening over the second weekend in April, 12th-14th, the exact time and day not set just yet.
But then... what can we expect of this next map? Well, here's a little screenshot as the first little teaser released:

Teaser #2
As a reply to a few ppls' questions and a little gesture for people taking my troll so well, I'll give a second teaser today!
Many have wondered; what are you serious, another desert? Is there no real destination?!
Well yes... yes, but we're talking a map that's far larger than the Aurian map. You don't think we'll make sure to use it?
So here's another little teaser of what's waiting! More teasers will be far less frequent... Enjoy!

Teaser #3
So how about some more fun facts? Well I said already in September 2012 or so, while having a discussion with dear ol' Manny, that I didn't think the Aurian map would be lasting much longer. It had already surpassed all expectations and the town Auria had by many means already been a success comparable to what all oldies here knows as Corelia.
Thus I decided to set the project off, named Project Exodus after a book I read once many years ago. A project that didn't get it's real spin off till December 2012 and have been driving us insane since demanding a lot of work from the staff ever since.
Manny offered to start off the mapping/map design with me. After a few discussions he offered to be the one drawing it. Thus, this is a project very close to his heart I think, and many of the ideas he can take credit for.
That's not saying the rest of us have been letting him do all the work, nono, in the end we've all designed this new map together, in one or another way.
The basic and amazing drawing though was done by one of our own fabulous artists; Pinkie. So lets see some more of her work, now shall we?

Teaser #4 [False, April fools]
So, Staff had a bit of a job to figure what's waiting at the actual end of the desert. Most of you by now already know that following the beacons and the word "pilgrimage" have been linked. But where do they lead? And what's up with the pilgrimage being more or less, well, our characters and no one else?
Well, one late night after a few Monster, sugar and for some older staffers, beer, we had a great idea! A monster! That'd explain things perfectly and be a nice little touch, also useful for cleansing out old characters.
So here it is, the Baceolus (OOC name only). It's a creature that will be residing anywhere on the map, randomly placed by staff, and if run into alone instantly cause death with it's massive main eye if you look at it. The smaller eyes will be shooting strong beams of Nether that can even hurt Xitians and would instantly kill any Lucin. Oh and guess where its first hideout lies?

Teaser #5
Story continues. For a while, admittedly it was basically Manny and I occasionally discussing the new map and planing a little. We were both quite busy with our lives and even if the rest were told, so were they.
So in December, I had put first deadline at New Years Eve (....I know), but that sure was not going to happen. As already predicted, Auria started finally to become an old setting to everyone, with all consequences to that following.
ICly, the 25th anniversary of the end of the War of Veld was held with mixed success. It was a fun thing to do, no doubt, but the fun didn't last as long as we hoped. People didn't use the chance of celebrating and having fun as much as one could and would've wished. Our problem that the next map was far from finished was a real problem.
Thus, I said that either we settle with what we got and toss the map up, move on the current map or make another map in between. The first wasn't much of an alternative for most of the staff, the second was after an investigation of the Aurian map impossible and thus it was decided to make the Middle Map out of the journey between the settings. Good thing we did because man have there been lots to do and the linear map has been a strange success, even if its been running far longer than intended.
A beautiful thing with the new map is the realistically sized and placed biomes. The tool used also allow us to make sure natural resources are generated more realistically due to the feature that allows one to customize the location and frequency of underground ores and resources.

Huuu I just got back home and it's 4 AM. Screw it, here's a picture!

Teaser #7
More regarding what awaits are to be announced in a couple of days, of course, but the live server goes down tonight! The characters are soon heading out one last time from their current camp and thus reach the end of the Middle Map.
This means, and I repeat because not everyone seem to have caught it yet, that there are going to be a few days downtime while the staff finish up the last touches.
Now... the Middle Map is closed. Here's more glimpses of what's to come.

Teaser #8
Here we go, the last teaser. If you all just knew what shit we've been through these final days! Last minute problems and fixes, phew! Technical difficulties and stress, staff's never been busier and never been more crazy from stress.
The last day before opening, such things as these have been said in staff chat...
And an actual last teaser.... ;D Aren't we all excited now, eh? and isn't the entire fkin staff just exhausted and crying blood...
