I'm bored. Those of you who watch/read anime/manga, what's your favorite one(s) and why?

I honestly have too many to list, and I don't have an all-time favorite, but I'd have to say my favorites would have to narrow down to Another, Clannad, Steins;Gate, Anohana, Blue Exorcist (manga), FMA: Brotherhood, Death Note, The World God Only Knows, Elefn Lied, Baka and Test (Season 1), etc. These aren't the /only/ ones I like, but they're some of my favorites and I'm sure I've missed a few. As you all can see, I have a very wide genre range that I like x3

But yeah, how about you all?

I remember watching The World God Only Knows. Weird premise, but surprisingly funny. Ooh! I remember years ago a friend had turned me onto a series called Darker Than Black. It's only two seasons (and the second season sucks in my opinion), but it has great animation and setting. There's another I like but can't remember the name of.

But I'm more of a film kind of person.
Paprika, Perfect Blue, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle top my list. But I can't forget classics like Ghost in the Shell and Akira.

Baka to Test to Shokanjuu Series 1, 2 and OVA's (References, references everywhere..SO MANY REFERENCES. Also funny)

D-Gray Man (Already been mentioned, but its pretty damn funny. The American Dub makes me cry though, watch it in Japanese for god sake xD)

Puella Magi Madoka Magica (Again, been mentioned, but don't watch the American dub :I)

Casshern Sins (Weird..but interesting, thought provoking and quite sad, yet happy. Squa)

Ouran High School Host Club (Basically guys hitting on girls)

Basically guys hitting on girls? Ouran features guys hitting on girls, but that's just not how I would sum up the series. I mean, it also features whimsical animation, a kick-ass main character, and all-round hilarity. Anyway, I adore Ouran based on it's hilarious, well-constructed satire of otaku culture and common anime tropes, but in spite of this the characters are well developed, especially Haruhi, Tamaki and the twins. This shows more in the manga, which I highly recommend if you've watched the anime and wished there was a second season.

The animes I like tend to involve magical girls, or tend to have terrible English dubs. It's because I remember the things from my childhood fondly, and I also am not so good with blood and guts. They aren't animes I'd really recommend. I just like them.

- Princess Tutu (I recommend this one if you're into magical ballerina princesses and the most meta plot ever.)
- Card Captor Sakura
- Digimon
- Persona 4: The Animation (Actually, I recommend this one, especially if you like Persona 4 as a game. The protagonist actually has a personality, and wow, what a personality it is!)
