I feel that Isohel has called me to write today about why I am here; as a gift to him and to my knowledge of the world of the Gods. If you are told that the Gods do not favor these writings, then please do not read this. I do not want to cause harm and suffering because of what I am to write on behalf of Isohel. I simply want to do his will.

Nicholas is pretty short for an nineteen year old. Heâs about 5 feet 5 inches, and pretty clumsy looking. Nick has a short but stocky build. He wears an old black necktie/ascot slapped non-professionaly around his neck that doesn't do much to compliment the rest of his messy outfit. His hair is the same; short, and a light shade of red/orange, almost brown really, which sits atop his head messily and dry. He has a scruffy and messy beard and sideburns, which he doesnât care to shave often. His eyes reside on a slightly meaty face, a very pale color of green/hazel. Just a warning, Nick is a very conflicted person. This is a very confusing, conflicted, paranoid collection of writings, and will be sort of hard to red OOC almost as much as his thoughts were conflicting IC when writing them. They are exerts from different journal entries of different times of Nickâs life since he started writing them (when he started an official schooling.) They are not chronological in the time they were written, but they tell a storyline that is in fact chronological. So, do your best to read it and understand, but there will be a clearer summary of his life underneath in case it didnât make much sense (which really is the ultimate goal besides telling his backstory).
Entry 30 on a Journey of Hope
Iâd like to start out by saying I think I should write- I think I should- I need time to think on how to write- Ponder- Pray over this. I need time to pray over this.
My mother of flesh transferred to me the gift of life from my mother Sulena. My parents of flesh were not good. They showed me the faith of the Gods, but discouraged me to do their will.
Before I was called to leave them, I received schooling. My parents of flesh paid for me a tutor, and so I learned many things. Math, Sciences, Literacy, it was interesting. I liked to learn about these things because they were all the work of the Gods. I could not learn from bigger schools because hostility angered many people in our place of living. Wars, fueled by anger and ignorance of the Godsâ great wonders.
(The Writing has switched to Third person.)
My parents of fl Isohel called Nicholas Me Nic Nicholas Feliciano to receive the knowledge of life from bigger schools. Nicholasâ family of flesh sent him to the school of many boys. These boys were sin evil want good but (The writing cuts of here)
Isohel, Sulena, and all my Gods, I am sorry. My ignorance has stopped me from following your will to write this. Is this your will? I need time to pray.
Entry 8 at Lifelâs School for Religious Boys
Seriously, these guys are just idiots. Itâs like the Godâs to them are pieces of crap unless they can be used to do their own will. And they donât even care about their schooling. The only way I can console myself and keep my piety in the presence of these heathens is if I focus on my studies. Right now Iâm first in class and I plan to keep it this way. Harold wonât be much of a threat because he doesnât have Isohel on his side.
Entry 15 at Lifelâs School for Boys
Harold has somehow taken my place as first in class. Is this really your will Isohel? Sulena? It makes me angry. I spend all my time studying, or praying. And he spends it with those other heathens partying and indulging. They say itâs okay because of Jutherani. No. Itâs not. Isohel would not allow it. Nor would any of the real Gods. If I am wrong for saying this, please forgive me my Gods.
Entry 34 at Lifelâs School for Boys
After much time of concentration and effort, Isohel has gifted me the place of first in class again. Thank you, I have worked, prayed, and fasted for this gift.
Despite the triumph, all the work has made me sad. I want a friend. One that doesnât spend their time doing ceremonies only acceptable in the eyes of the false gods. But there are none here. Am I being called somewhere else?
Entry 40 at Lifelâs School for Ignorant Boys
Theyâre all ignorant of the truth. I only find it in you. Iâm no longer mad about being last in class. It is what you want. You have called me to pray and fast, and not to study. Please, give me another sign like you have. I would like to escape this school of ignorance.
Entry 41 at Lifelâs School for Ignorant Boys
I saw the monk the street today once again. I think you are sending me a sign. I will do it if it is your will Isohel, Sulena, Aezophyris, Drymaterras, Niponautes, Vucaldestus.
Thank you.
Entry 3 at the Monastery
I like it here. They teach things I understand and have always known. The people do not wallow in the work of the false gods. They spend their lives for Isohel. But Sulena, oh beautiful Sulena, why do they not look to you as well? And Aezophyris? Niponautes? Where art my Gods?
Entry 8 at the Monastery
Isohel, my God of truth and wisdom, why have you put me here? You are not the only God of our realm, the only God I long for. Sulena, Drymaterras, Vucaldestus! I call for help like a man crying for water in a desert of death. These men, they seek the truth, but find none. I seek the truth, but I fear it might not be here. Is it your will that I leave here?
Entry 8 of Wandering
I must not go back to my parents of flesh again. They would not understand why I left the school of ignorance, or why Isohel allowed me to be removed from the monastery. I continue to wander the streets, humbling myself to the point of a beggar; for you, my Gods. I want life, truth, happiness; but only if it is your will to give me such, my Gods. Sulena, my love from the shadows, point me somewhere, give me a sign; a place to receive hope; I can only pray.
Entry 13 of Wandering
Your wisdom brought me to the annual Lifel ball tonight. It was full of treachery and drunkenness, but there I think I was called. I met Jonathon. He was very gifted with intelligence from Isohel himself. We talked about our Gods, and he mentioned a holy pilgrimage of ancient days. We talked about this for awhile, and he told me he left the monastery of Isohel as well. I could trust him. He told me about how they chose a monk to go to the Forbidden Lands, to take care of the shrine and rest area of Isohel along the path of the ancient pilgrims.
I felt called tonight. Isohel, through Jonathon, showed me the way to go. I will find a ship to this pilgrimage. There I can find light, hope, in my life of wandering. Thank you Isohel, for showing me the pilgrimâs path. I shall find the monk Jonathon has spoken of, and see where the Gods take me.
Thank you Isohel. Thank you Sulena. I praise you.
Entry 9 on a Journey of Hope
I found the shrine. I came all this way. He wonât talk. He just stared. I prayed; he stared. Is this your will Gods? Why am I here? He chants in some dialect I do not understand. I canât stay here. It angers me too much, and I know you are calling me away. I will continue to follow the pilgrimâs way.
Entry 13 on a Journey of Hope
Iâve spent another day here. There are homes, a gift from my Gods, and a large beacon resides atop the mountain. I see it as Isohel, shinging ever-bright all day, watching over me. I see Sulena at night, casting beautiful shadows upon me from the darkness above. I like it here. My Gods, I feel you have called me to stay here, and so I shall; until the day I am called further into the journey of the pilgrim.
Thank You, I praise you and all the Gods of the heavens.
OOC Summary
So basically, Nick was born an only child to two wealthy parents in a city on the mainland called Lifel and into a time of Civl War. The town was under attack by surrounding cities and towns, but as Nick grew eventually Lifel held off itâs attackers and became a peaceful place. Nickâs parents were Mesalians who followed the Mesalian paganistic religion, and raised their son in it. His parents werenât a big fan of having a son, they didnât like kids, so they got him tutors to teach him as often as possible so they didnât have to deal with him. They didnât think much of their religion, but their son, a young and intelligent mind, grabbed a hold of it as a truth in his life, helping him to be perfect despite his parents not caring much for him.
As he grew, Nicholas began to grow his own beliefs on the Mesalian religion; much more strict and rigid then most Mesalians saw it as. He saw Isohel, Sulena, and the four elemental Gods as the only true Gods, and was constantly worried about fulfilling the will of these Gods, even when it angered his parents. Nick saw his parents as getting in the way of the Godsâ will, and so he asked them to leave home. His parents gladly sent him to a school in Lifel for boys only.
He grew up learning, always trying to be first in his class, in his prayer life, everything. He looked with angry and judgmental eyes on anyone who dragged him down from his goals of excellence and right with the Gods, and saw most others as heathens of their own religion. This is where he truly began to believe that the lesser Gods were either evil or nonsense. He developed lonliness, which was never satisfied. This slowly led through his years in the school into a sense of paranoia, and eventually to the point of borderline Schizophrenia. He constantly worried about doing the Godsâ will, which led him to begin to fail classes and eventually leave the school and go to the Isohel-monk monastery in Lifel.
He never became a monk there, because he grew weary of how the monks only worshiped Isohel the majority of their time, and didnât recognize the other Gods. He saw messages in almost every every-day event, and constantly became worried and paranoid he had to be doing something to please the Gods.
These messages led one to the other, and Nicholas continued following what he believed to be the wills of his Gods. This eventually led him to the pilgrimâs journey, where he now resides at the pilgrimâs retreat.

OOC: I will be pausing Nicholas officially now. This is the story as to why and how he was paused, and the obvious possibility of his death.
Nicholas shifted his tired eyes open, revealing the dimly lit cavern he had been sleeping in. He slowly shifted up. His throat ached from being so completely dry, his stomach rumbled once again from lack of food. He looked to the large lantern which lit the cave, the great light of Isohel to Nicholas. After several days with no food or water, Nick was beginning to be beckoned out of his mind more than he already was naturally. His unnourished body begged him for water as he sat unnerved in the extremely humid cave in the middle of the desert. He murmured dryly to the light of Isohel,
"My body may no longer offer this suffering up to you..." He looked aghast towards the light; as he spoke fearfully. "I am sorry.."
He slowly retrieved his canteen of dirty water and got up, leaving the cave to obtain nourishment from the people he never once trusted more than himself. When he arrived parched into the small camp of tents, the people looked as if he was insane; and rightfully so. A few kindly women offered him clean water to drink after succumbing to Nicholas' request that they say a prayer with him first.
After drinking this, Nicholas looked down at the food they had put into his hands. An apple, in which the sun's reflection showed the fire of the camp... it was Vulcadestus. Then the potato, the harvest of the land... it was Drymaterras. And finally the fish, the creatures from the sea to nourish him... it was Niponautes. The only god Nicholas did not have possession was Aezophyris; the god of messengers, travelers, journeys. It was the only presence that was not with him.
"Interesting..." He murmured to himself as he looked out at the path in front of him, his thirst quenched and food in his arms. That was the journey Aezophyris wanted him to take. The final trial to his mortal being to truly be following the will of the gods. And these 'pilgrims' were taking far too long for Nicholas to please his deities.
"I believe the gods have called me to continue the journey alone." He told the woman.
And so he did. With little food and water, and a journey of unknown proportions ahead of him, Nicholas' chances of surviving the desert of the great pilgrimage are slim to none.
