Or Top 10.. since I have so many... but the idea here was, I wanted to see what types of movies people hail as their favorites - what genres they tend to be in, and perhaps even why they were favorited. Whether it be due to an actor/actress, based on a beloved book, or amazaar special effects - let's see what we all like!

For me, in no particular order; my favorite movies and why.

Finian's Rainbow: (1968, musical) - It's got Fred Astaire in it <3 and I ended up crushing slightly on Tommy Steele. Plus, somewhat of a sucker for comedy, some musicals, and accents. (No, this won't be for 'everyone'.)

Clue: (1985, comedy) - Tim Curry; one of my favorite-ever actors, and funny one-liners and things.

Aladdin: (1992, animated) - My other most-favorite actors, Robin Williams.

Monster's Inc.: (2001, animated) - Boo, the character, reminded me so much of how I used to play my first main character, K, with her very childish ways, her talking, etc. My boyfriend agreed that they were real similar. And she was just adorable.

Finding Nemo: (2003, animated) - Dory the character made this into a favorite movie for me. She was likened to me with so many of her lines (her forgetfulness and cheery personality).

The other ones I can remember right now, as I'm thinking, range from more obscure to well-known. The Fifth Element (for the characters and effects), Zorro: The Gay Blade (for the story, parody, and over-the-topness), The Private Eyes (for the actors and gags), The Crow (for the story and effects), and The Dark Crystal (for the story and effects).

I'm sure if I was at home, I might change the second set of 'favorites' due to having some there to jar my memory... but at the moment, this seems like a big enough list.

It was hard, but I've narrowed them down. In no particular order.

Blade Runner: (1982, Sci-Fi Drama/Thriller) - Ridley Scott's original, distopian aci-fi set in 2019 San Fransisco. Based on the novel 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep'. It defined a genre and remains a cult classic.

The Terminator: (1984, Sci-Fi Action) - You ever heard of James Cameron? Yeah, well who hasn't heard or seen somethnig to do with the shiny skeleton, killer cyborgs that were atificially grown skin, hair, flesh and teeth? Sent back in time to terminate Sarah Connor whose son will grow up to lead the resistance against Skynet in a post apocalyptic future.

Goldeneye: (1995, Action) - The first Bond movie I laid my peepers on... and I haven't looked back since. Easily my favourite of the 20+ films, Skyfall coming a close second.

I, Robot: (2004, Sci-Fi Action/Mystery) - Future again. Humanity's made robots to do their bidding again. Said robots rebel against their 'Self-Destructive' creators, exploiting a flaw in the Three Laws of Robotics to impose curfews, take a way human rights and murder the occasional troublemaker.

The Avengers: (2012, Action) - It's the freakin' Avengers... Need I say more?... Alright I will. Iron Man's in it. There. Done.

Uh. No particular order here...

Step Up (2006 Crime/Drama/Music) My favorite out of all the Step Up movies, though I love them all. Channing Tatum's in it -I don't mean to fangirl there -and he does a great job acting with Jenna Dewan. I love dancing movies, but not musicals.

The Adjustment Bureau (2011 Romance/Sci-Fi/Thriller) I love this movie. It's different, and hell, it's got Matt Damon in it. It gives an idea of conspiracies in our lives, with just a bit of romance.

It's Kind of a Funny Story (2010 Comedy/Drama/Romance) Dis movie... It's really good. I don't even know what specifically I love about it, I just really like it. Maybe because I, at times, can relate to the main character, how sometimes you can just be so incredibly stressed to the point where you just can't take it anymore, and you know you have to change something in your life.

Can't think of any more movies at the moment. My top three right there.

I won't do my favorites in any particular order cause I can't say there is any, but here they are!

Treasure Planet: (2002, family/adventure) - Not only an amazing idea and interpretation of the story "Treasure Island", but also marvelous animation and with one of the best Disney villains of all time - John Silver.

Die Hard 1-4: (1988, 1990, 1995, 2007 Action) I grew up with these movies and with Bruce Willis, he's one of my favorite actors and this is hardcore old-style action! My general problem with the modern action movies is that they lack what the classic ones have: genuine characters. The hero of these movies isn't any kung-fu FBI mega-super masochist bullet dodging killer machine that will walk out of every fight not even breaking a sweat. John McCane is throughout these movies a cop, a husband, an overprotecting father, an alcoholic, a smoker, a depressed-ridden man, very pissed, empathic and HARD WORKING MAN SPILLING BLOOD, SWEATING, GETTING DIRTY AND AGING AS HE GOES! Unfortunately I've not seen the 5th movie and I've heard it's bad.... Such a shame.

Also, The Avengers, but I am not going to re-link as it's been mentioned. It's just a real cool movie. ^^

Wall-E - Such cuteness from little robots, a sweet and lovely film all about love and life. Yes Cerb has a heart, even a cold one of stone :I

Forward Unto Dawn - Technically it was a webshow/TV Series, but when combined together it was like..90 minutes long, so I'mma call it a film, and it was a pretty damn good one for me.

Gremlins - One Word. GIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIZMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Also cute and funny.

A.I Artificial Intelligence - A Bittersweet movie, and one with a lot of happy and sad moments. Also one of the first 12's I saw, before I was 12 whee~ Rebel~

Jumanji - A film I've loved for years, although it makes me feel old when I watch it now :I

There are loads more, but meh.
