Journal of Steel & Flame
#1
In this journal all the higher quality weapons Mathias produces are carefully described and tracked, each of the weapons has a name and each name has meaning.

Aonghus An-Chéad & Aonghus An-Dara
The sister sword's names literally mean "One Srength First & One Strength Second", they are short-swords designed to be held in both hands. An-Chéad is a left handed blade, and An-Dara is a right handed blade. They are made with Mathias' favored high carbon steel, and have a mirror like high polish shine, their best quality is an exceptional balance unrivaled by any of Mathias' other sword works.

Both of the swords remain in Mathias' possession, made by request but not yet claimed.

Brónach
This is Mathias' prized blade, the one that has seen war and death and sings still with the blood of the north. Mathias almost never draws this blade when it is not needed, believing that the lives it has taken are not honored by brandishing the weapon. The blade is made of a high quality carbon steel, with a lenticular-broad-fuller shaped blade, and a hilt wide enough for two hands yet balanced at the pommel to allow for one handed use by someone of excessive size such as Mathias. The blade is differentially tempered, and boasts and extremely high polish blade that gleams and shines when drawn. The blade is longer then the usual longsword, as it is the weapon of a very tall man. The blade's name literally means "sorrow".

This blade remains in Mathias' possession and never leaves his side. He sleeps with it within arm's reach. He fucks with it inches from his grip. He eats with it resting in his lap or at his side. This blade is as much a part of Mathias as his eyes or arms.

Ardghal
Ardghal is a longsword made for someone of an average height and build, possibly leaning towards a more feminine wielder. She has much in common with Mathias' personal longsword, more or less the little sister of the well used and bloodied blade. It has a similar design in almost every way, however it is designed and weighted for hand and a half use, rather then the full two hand yet balanced for one deal Mathias practices, allowing him to make the sword a good deal lighter, perhaps for a woman to use. Her name means "High Valor."

This blade was made according to an old order Elizabeth put in, but Mathias had second thoughts about delivering it. He is holding onto it until Elizabeth proves herself worthy of being armed with a blade fit for a noble.

Berach Aoibhe
This mighty glaive's name literally translates to "Sharp Beauty", and there is no mistake in the naming. It is easily the most ornately crafted of all the blades, with a mirror like high polish surface and Celtic-like knot designs across the profile. It is made with Mathias' trademark carbon steel, and keeps an edge longer then most other blades, yet can be harder to sharpen without the appropriate tools, meaning the blade is likely to see Mathias again and again as it is used.

Mathias was ordered to craft this blade by Cyrus, yet has absolutely no idea who it is for, for now it remains in his possession.

Posted it as River on accident. Fixed.
