So, I usually only listen to music when I'm RPing or driving, so I mostly stick on an album, techno or rock/metal/whatever, and let it run out and then find another.
Probably my favorite techno album, easy to listen to:
Definitely my favorite other album, saw it live in concert and it lived up to expectations:
Deadmau5 is, surprisingly enough, my go to RP or writing music while I usually drive to Nightwish, as strange as that might be. I like to swap it up every so often, but those are my mains.
It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living.

I can understand the Deadmau5 for writing. His music's got a versatility to it where you can listen to it on a low volume, and it's chill-out music. Then you turn it up and it's like, your jam. It helps with atmosphere for a variety of situations.
I usually don't write with any noise because I'm too easily distracted, but occasionally I'll listen to some before hand to get me into the mood. Like, I sometimes listen to Chet Faker's "Solo Sunrise" when RPing an angry Chathra. I like the subtleties of the emotion, the way that the music is still calm for an angry song. Displaying hurt with anger. It's very Chathra.
I usually like music on when I'm playing a game and I don't particularly care for the sound design. Minecraft's a good example of that. And I'm also one of those people who will listen to a song on repeat until I either die or I'm bored of it. Lately I've been listening to Alison Wonderland's "I Want U" on repeat, and before that it was OK GO's "The Writing's on the Wall".
Alison Wonderland's kinda out my range in terms of preferred sound; I usually like calm and chill music, or obnoxious music from my childhood.

Alright so, to explain this... oddity...
I'm a huge fan of the comic creator/artist Don Rosa. Like HUGE fan, I just love his style and stories and they're... Duck-stories, yes. Doesn't matter, I love them and got every single one of them. I'm also a HUGE fan of Tuomas Holopainen, that's right he's Nightwish. But I'm of the odd few people that just love the man for being a great composer.
Tuomas made an album based off Don Rosa's most famous work "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck". Cause Tuomas is an equally big fan. This was like a dream come true to me, yes I know. All nerdgasm all over the place.
I listen to Tuomas Holopainen's The Life and Times of Scrooge a lot right now, no matter how odd it sounds, and it was the thing I listened to most recently too. Specificaly this one song Duels and Cloudscapes:
