The Elements and Races of Mesalia

THE ELEMENTS

NOTE: I have only provided explanations for Aether, Nether and Void as they are Mesalia RP (somewhat) original creations and no one really knows what the hell they are. If you need more clarification on other elements, just say so.


Aether
Channelled by: Lucins, Half Lucins (only some)
Realms which contain Aether: The Celestial Realm, the Middle Realm, the Aether Realm
Notable sources: Lucins, Mesalians, animals, plant life and floating islands
Effects on Lucins: Heals mental and physical illness and injury, depending on where the Aether is being directed. Neutralises Nether. When Lucins are around a lot of Aether, their eyes glow and their powers are strengthened.
Effects on Mesalians: Heals mental and physical illness and injury, depending on where the Aether is being directed. Neutralises Nether. As Mesalians are only part Aether, there is some such thing as too much Aether: having too much Aether in the body will wear off. But, the effects include temporarily boosted strength, and hyperactivity.
Effects on Xitians: Specific symptoms vary between Xitians, however illness (mental or physical or both) and general weakness are common. Most extreme cases end in death. Exposure to Aether can be neutralised with exposure to Nether and vice versa.
Uses:
Other notes: The element of life and purity. Aether doesn't regenerate the body, but instead helps the body heal by boosting it.

Nether
Channelled by: Xitians, Half Xitians (only some)
Realms with contain Nether: The Dusk Realm, the Middle Realm, the Nether Realm
Notable sources: Xitians, dusk creatures, fungi, items from the Nether, items from dusk creatures
Effects on Lucins: Specific symptoms vary between Lucins, however illness (mental or physical or both) and general weakness are common. Most extreme cases end in death. Exposure to Nether can be neutralised with exposure to Aether and vice versa.
Effects on Mesalians: Results and symptoms vary. Extreme, extended exposure to Nether has been known to end in physical and mental illness and injury, as well as death. Nether is a corrupting force: instead of boosting the body like Aether, it attacks the body. Short-term exposure to Nether seems harmless. Neutralises Aether.
Effects on Xitians: Heals mental and physical illness and injury, depending on where the Nether is being directed. Neutralises Aether. When Xitians are around a lot of Nether, their eyes glow and their powers are strengthened.
Other notes: Nether is the direct opposite of Aether. It is the element of death and corruption. However, with Xitians this is the other way around. For Xitians, Aether is the element of death and corruption whereas Nether is the element of life and purity. Hence, the effects above.

Void
Channelled by: N/A
Realms which contain Void: The Void (OOC: The End)
Notable sources: Endermobs, obsidian, portal blocks, items from the Void, items from endermobs.
Effects on Lucins: N/A
Effects on Mesalians: N/A
Effects on Xitians: N/A
Other notes: Void is literally the element of nothingness, which is why most do not regard it as an element. It is not dark matter, but rather some form of anti-matter. It cannot be channelled and no elements affect it.

THE RACES

Lucins (Loo-sin)
Elements channelled: Water, Air, and Aether
Weaknesses: Large amounts of Fire, Earth, and Nether. Resistance to these elements depends on the physical strength of the Lucin: stronger Lucins may find themselves not completely immune, but barely tolerant over short periods of time.
Strengths: Large amounts of Water, Air, and Aether. When close to these elements, Lucins will get a power boost as well as an energy boost, and may use the Aether around them to heal themselves and other Lucins. Lucins are best above ground and in snow biomes.
Eye colour: Shades of blue, may easily pass as a Mesalian with blue eyes if desired.
Other notes: Prefer cooler body temperatures.

Xitians (Eks-sit-tee-an)
Elements channelled: Fire, Earth, and Nether
Weaknesses: Large amounts of Water, Air, and Aether. Resistance to these elements depends on the physical strength of the Xitian: stronger Xitians may find themselves not completely immune, but barely tolerant over short periods of time.
Strengths: Large amounts of Fire, Earth, and Nether. When close to these elements, Xitians will get a power boost as well as an energy boost, and may use the Nether around them to heal themselves and other Xitians. Xitians are best underground and in desert biomes.
Eye colour: Shades of red.
Other notes:  Don't need to drink water as often and do not get attacked by dusk creatures as easily.

Mesalians (Meh-SAY-lee-an)
Elements channelled: N/A
Weaknesses: Large amounts of any element except Void.
Strengths: Small to moderate amounts of Aether.
Eye colour: Anything except red and purple.
Other notes: Mesalians are made of both Aether and Nether, and react well to Aether and poorly to too much Nether. They have no powers. Mesalians are usually the result of two Mesalian parents: but on rare occasions a Mesalian can be born to two Xitian or Lucin parents as powerless offspring. These children are often seen as weak, however.

Half Lucin, Half Mesalian
Elements channelled: Half Lucins are only able to control one element: Water, Air or Aether. However, it is rare for a Half Lucin to be able to control Water.
Weaknesses: Large amounts of Fire, Earth, and Nether. Resistance to these elements depends on the physical strength of the Half Lucin: stronger Half Lucins may find themselves not completely immune, but barely tolerant over short periods of time.

Half Xitian, Half Mesalian
Elements channelled: Half Xitians are only able to control one element: Fire, Earth or Nether. However, it is rare for a Half Xitian to be able to control Fire.
Weaknesses: Large amounts of Water, Air, and Aether. Resistance to these elements depends on the physical strength of the Half Xitian: stronger Half Xitians may find themselves not completely immune, but barely tolerant over short periods of time.

Half Lucin, Half Xitian: Lu-Xits

Luxit (Loo-sit) is a completely OOC name. Half-Lucin, half-Xitian breeds currently have no IC name. Lu-Xits are EXTREMELY rare. If the child doesn't die at birth due to the conflict of Aether and Nether within their bodies (the most likely outcome), the other two options are as follows:

Neutralised
Elements channelled: N/A
Weaknessess: Large amounts of any element except Void.
Stengths: Small to moderate amounts of Aether.
Eye colour: Grey - Mesalians can also have grey eyes, too.
Other notes: This is basically a Mesalian with grey eyes. The Aether and Nether cancel each other out in the Lu-Xit and the body has neutralised.

Balanced
Elements channelled: Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Aether and Nether. Basically every element with the exception of Void.
Weaknesses and Strengths: Balanced Lu-Xits are composed of a perfect, 50-50 balance of Aether and Nether in their system. This is both their great strength and deadly weakness, as while this balance offers them great power over the elements, its a very, very fragile balance. Upsetting this balance will severely weaken the Lu-Xit, shorten their lifespan and in most cases end in their death. Aether-Nether balances in Lu-Xits can be upset simply by being around too much Aether or Nether, or by using their Aether/Nether to channel an element. Basically, if you're a balanced Lu-Xit, using your powers means you will die. These Lu-Xits also can't be healed with Aether or Nether, as this too will set off the balance unless they can get a perfectly equal 50-50 amount of Aether and Nether directed to them, which is ridiculously hard.
Eye colour: Purple
