#1
[For now, this thread consists of the old lore and a WORK IN PROGRESS. "The Second Age" will consist of the old lore ages in this thread and will eventually be written into one single piece of lore. Comments and questions are encouraged.]

Age of Inheritance/Second Age
There came a tragic night, twenty-two years later, where an event unforeseen had occurred: the great Emperor Salazar, after centuries of reign, had passed into the hands of death. Despite the efforts of the royal guards, an assassin had snuck into the palace, and murdered the slumbering Emperor in his bed chamber that very night. They say the assassin was identified as a Xitian, but the assassin was never caught, and Salazar had not made a spoken declaration as to who would be heir to the throne. Apparently not as devastated as they should have been at their father's death, Rhise and Umbriae almost immediately argued over power. Crisis gripped the quickly declining empire, and once more the Seven Sages showed themselves, and settled the dispute by reading Salazar's hidden will, which like the powerful crystals now residing in our Middle Realm at this time, was imparted to them. Rhise was to rule the Celestial Realm, and Umbriae was to rule the Dusk. The twins agreed to this decision, and the empire finally fell. From the inherited Realms arose the beginnings of two kingdoms, ruled by Queen Rhise and King Umbriae. However, no one, it seemed, was to inherit our Realm. The Middle Realm received not a single mention in Salazar's will, and not a soul questioned it. After all, to all who were present in the court during the reading of the late emperor's will, the Middle Realm was a useless, uninhabited land. We were still undiscovered people, but regardless, our existence would have not prevented the raging war that was to come.

(Age of Conflict)
After many years, almost a century, our neighboring Realms had finally established their kingdoms. Our own Realm was also starting to see change, as some camps were developing into settlements, albeit slowly. However, for the majority of us Vagrants, life was still an endless journey, and the adrenaline of travel ran thick in our blood. A drought struck our main continent and food quickly became scarce, and so our kind migrated south to the tropical islands. This is how fate made fools of us all, for both the Celestial and Dusk Realm began to seek more land, and their first instinct was to acquire our seemingly desolate Middle Realm.Had we stayed on the Mainland, the Xitians would have discovered us, as it was the Dusk Realm who quickly claimed several pieces of land in our Realm. This sparked conflict between Umbriae and Rhise, which in turn created tension between the kingdoms. A war that lasted for over 100 years raged in our Realm, and many Lucins and Xitians died. They called it the War of Kane. We remained blissfully unaware of this bloodbath, for fate had played a funny game on us Vagrants, even as it ensued on our very Mainland. Ultimately, the war came to a halt. The siblings, who had grown tired of warfare, met together in the chamber of their late father, and agreed that neither kingdom would possess land on our Realm. The two had honored that standstill throughout the rest of their reign, and once again, the Middle Realm was at peace.
