I wish to join because I've been searching high and low for a good roleplay server, and this seems to be the one.

Tell us a bit about yourself:
I'm usually rather talkative and I tend to like to make conversation. I hate being alone. I love writing/reading (which is how I found my interest in roleplay.) I have a short temper, but if I'm not annoyed, I'm a rather nice person. I love to help people out as much as I can.

Your Character Biography:
Solstice was born in the Lucins' side of the kingdom. At a young age, she lost those dear to her: Her mother, her father. They fought attempting to keep Solstice safe. She was left an orphan and lived alone, until a kind woman took her in. She was raised from that age (7) by the woman. This woman had never told Solstice her name, despite Solstice's constant questioning. She still lives with the woman in a small house.

Do your character bring anything to the setting (part from clothes)?
Solstice has a long dagger, a blue gem sparkling in the hilt. (Yes, I know nothing like that exists in Minecraft.) She also sometimes will carry a bow with her, packed with water/ice arrows.

Anything you'd like to add:
I really don't know what name I was supposed to choose.... If you think I could improve it with a name more relevant to the lore and things, please give me a suggestion. Also, in-game, do our skins have to look like our character or can they be our normal ones?

Hey Rainbow, FireDog here. I will be grading your application to Mesalia.

This application does need some work, but I think you can do it once you have a better grasp of what we're looking for.

1. Back-story length and format. Your current back-story does not have enough to pass by our standards. To help out a bit, I will make a list with a description of each listed item that you must add to the back-story. I will also use examples from my most recently made character, Nadia, to help out.

Name: This is your character's full name.
EX: Nadia Verdon

Age: This is how old your character currently is upon coming into the setting.

Gender: Gender of your character.

Birthday: Not a requirement, however I suggest picking a date so that every two months, your character ages one year. More or less, this allows you to keep track of how old your character is.
EX: The 17th (Every two months on the 17th, Nadia ages one year)

Race: This is your characters race. Since you are not staff, you many only play a Mesalian. Other possible races are: Xitian, Lucin, Half-Blood Xitian, and Half-Blood Lucin. Once again, you may only play Mesalian characters.

Appearance: This is what your character looks like. I would suggest about one to two paragraphs of detail ranging from the character's clothes to how he or she presents his or herself and how he or she look in general. This section also includes any scars, birthmarks, or other notable markings he or she might have.

Personality: This is how your character behaves. Who they are. This section should be nice and lengthy, I suggest about three to four paragraphs explaining as much as you can for personality. This is arguably the most important part because personality is your character and who you play. Without this, the character will be a cardboard cutout of a minecraft skin. Really go into detail and explain little things. Make sure the personality makes sense with the character's back-story as well though. (You wouldn't see a happy-go-lucky, frilly, James Bond) If you're having trouble, think a bit; how is your character on the outside? How does he or she usually present his or herself? How is your character on the inside, how the really feel. What is his or her favorite food? What are his or her fears? What are his or her goals and what does he or she want in life? What does he or she do in his or her free time? Really take the time to flush this out.

Skills: This is your character's skill list. Depending on the character's age, the skills may be higher or lower. This also depends on the number of skills. I can not properly grade this right now as you do not have the age section nor specifics of the skills. I would read the skill guide to get a understanding as to what I'm looking for.
 
Knowledge: This is general knowledge that your character may or may not have. This includes things like reading, writing, and language. Being a Mesalian, your character is most likely to speak common. And possibly read and write.

Backstory: Another important part, this should be the events of your character's life. Everything that has happened to him or her through his or her life. Start from childhood, and make your way up to how old the character currently is. the story MUST end with your character taking a several week long voyage to the continent of the Forbbiden Lands. Remember, the story is what eventually makes the character who he or she is today. The story should be rather lengthy and go into many events. Additionally, it MUST have relation to our lore in Mesalia. Be sure to read the lore and take note of the most recent event that have happened, and write down how your character feels about the events or what he or she did during those events. If your character was not involved, be sure to say why he or she was not involved.

2. Character race: You many only play a Mesalian character. Only staff are allowed to play Lucins and Xitians. There is no huge disadvantage to playing a Mesalian though, in fact most argue the Mesalians are a stronger race. However non staff members may only play Mesalians.

3. Skills: Why does Solstice have stealth and archery skills as no trainign of the sort is mentioned in her story?

4. Items: Why does Solstice have a dagger and bow if nothing is mentioned of obtaining said items in the story? Additionally, water and Ice arrows to be carried do not make sense. Especially since water can not make a solid object of an arrow and ice would melt.

Add Questions:

1. In our rules, we state that you must use a character skin that is appropriate for the setting. This means no HoneyDew skins or creeper skins, et cetera. The skin must be of your character.

2. As far as the name goes, I'd like you to make a full name in Solstice's story. However the name is up to you. Some names in the current setting are different versions of modern names. Others are made up. Personally, my names for my characters come last with gender. I decide the gender of the character and his or her name after I make the personality section. I find something that fits the character and stick with it.
